Man O' War! ((PIC))
Im pretty sure this is a Portuguese man o' war. Cool huh? They use thier air bladder to "sail" around and thier tenticles to kill small animals and sometimes people. Im not swimming today:)

What is a Diaphragm?

Very awesome pics! We don't have many Man-o-wars wash up on this coast but there are tons of jelly fish. When we surf it's assured that we'll get stung about 4 or 5 times a day. It's not bad but it does sting and burn quite a bit.
A man-o-war can actually kill a person with its sting and that one looks pretty formidable. |

those are really great pics. those little bastards sting!!!!!! i have been stung 4 times and let me tell you, it ain't fun.
best thing to do is wash the area with ammonia (i have even heard of people peeing on each other to neutralize the sting). anyways, the pics are fun to look at- meeting them in person is not. |
