FACE 03-29-2004 03:07 AM

NASA wouldn't put that pic up on the site if they weren't totally sure exactly what it was.

Put the tinfoil hats away, guys.

Tim 03-29-2004 03:07 AM

stephanie m. 03-29-2004 03:08 AM

mars attacks!

DarkJedi 03-29-2004 03:20 AM

Another thing to consider:

This object looks buried by wind-blown dirt.

The air on mars is VERY thin. Might take years to cover something that much.

And I doubt it that the two probes landed so close to each other. The chanses of that happening would be 1 in a billion.

kmanrox 03-29-2004 03:23 AM

it doesnt even look like an object to me, it looks like a really good print of something that touched the sand..

DarkJedi 03-29-2004 03:28 AM

take a look:

http://origin.mars5.jpl.nasa.gov/gal...0P2957M2M1.JPG

doesnt look like an imprint

OWNED 03-29-2004 03:29 AM

It's a methane vent from the underground city:
