Metal disc? This is clearly an IMPRINT in the sand. Half the imprint is actually blown away already.

You guys only see what you want to see.
It's just a dust cover imprint in the sand

I wouldn't get too excited.

Another "billion-to-one" chance is aliens using philips screw drivers.

The air on mars is VERY thin. Might take years to cover something that much.

And I doubt it that the two probes landed so close to each other. The chanses of that happening would be 1 in a billion.

Nope Mars engulfed by a massive storm

"Dust is rising more than 40 miles from Mars' surface, NASA scientists said, and winds at the surface are likely more than 80 miles an hour. High-altitude winds are even faster at close to 260 miles an hour. "

I'm not going argue with you about it. I know what a philips screw looks like and I've never seen one like that before. I'm sure whatever they send out to space uses something stronger then philips screws ..LOL.

You'd think with the billions of dollars spent on the space program, that the US government could afford cameras with equal or better quality than even the lowest of low budget pornographers. Gimme a fuckin break, the pics look like screen caps from a web cam show and not even in color - WTF???

yeah you'd think they'd have wired a OC3 to mars to send back all these high resolution, color pics you're talking about.

Nice! martians use phillips head screws.

VicMartin 03-29-2004 11:22 AM

Is it just me or does anyone else see phillips head screw heads on the right side of that disk? It's probably something from one of the recent probes.

:eek7

fasteners come in all forms. its not like its a sheetrock screw or something you dork. airplanes USE THE SAME FUCKING THINGS - its a phillips screw head on a different type of fastener.

Rich 03-29-2004 11:24 AM

You know how much garbage we've left in space? Tons. I'm not a big space nut but wouldn't it be possible for that to have hit Mars years ago? I have no idea how long it would take something to float to Mars, that's just a thought. It would be nice for Nasa to explain some of the funnier looking pictures, but I'm not holding my breath.
