American soldiers are thieves...
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A year after the U.S.-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein's government in Iraq, items touted as having come from Saddam's palaces have turned up for sale on the auction Web site eBay.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/03/18/ira...oty/index.html These items should be confiscated and returned to Iraq at the expense of these looters. The soldiers responsible should be thrown out of the armed forces. |
sound like a familiar movie that Clooney did in the Gulf War era.. Three Kings?

"We didn't think we were going to be able to get them home, but they said we could take 10 items," Dearinger said

Hmmmmm... the armed forces or garbage collection? The choice must have been a difficult one for this monkey. |
I would have done the same thing
|
My cousin sent back an Iraqi gun. I was just at the shooting range with it last night. Not very good accuracy, but damn it was fun shooting at the camel jockey targets he sent with it.

Rape and pillage has always been part of the attraction to the soldier life. This goes back thousands of years, in fact in some cases the only way to raise an army was the promise of loot and booty. This is why it was always easier to raise an invading army then to gather a defensive force ie. the reason Vikings were so succesful.
I don't condone the behaviour but this is the sort of thing that will never change and to think that American soldiers, an all volunteer force, are any different than the millions before them is a bit naive :2 cents: |

American soldiers are brutal. http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,...913069,00.html "WITHOUT MY RIFLE I AM USELESS" hey at least they can admit that! :glugglug |

I admit it's hardly surprising... I'm sure theft, rape and baby killing come naturally to these thugs. |

My grand[a came back from WWII with tons of Nazi memorabilia.. swords, daggers, etc.
was that wrong too? I don't think taking anything of real value is right, but come on.. old carpets and tore up silverware? It's trash that would have been lost in the rubble. Did you hear how they took all of the marble and gold from the palaces to use and give back to the Iraqi people in the rebuilding process? I suppose that was wrong too? |

The soldiers fight...for little or no money...sometimes they deserve perks for protecting our country. But to sell things like that on ebay? I mean, c'mon...soldiers may be strong, but they're not the brightest.

I am not for the war, but I do honestly respect those who are in it. I realise many of them are 'brainwashed', and not too intelligent, but I also realise that they are the people who put their lives on the line for what they believe in. The way you come off in this thread is quite the opposite to this. You refer to the American armed forces in a manner that would suggest you believe they are all thugs and thieves, and thus not worthy on any respect. |
what do you expect from someone who risk their lives for $1500 a month. Hell everytime i go out of town i like to bring back something.
Its a tradition to bring back something from war and tell a story to your grandchildren about it |

The fall of Berlin was almost 60 years ago... this shit is happening right now. It's time to crack down and make some changes. |
Those of you bashing the soldiers who are over there fighting for your right to sit here and spew shit are just fucked. These men & women fight for our country and you dog them, move out of the country and go live in france you fucks.
Support your country, one day it could be your son or daughter fighting for your right to live freely. |

supporting my country has nothing to do with this war. :glugglug |

These soldiers are nothing more than thugs and common thieves. Fuck them. |

Stop thinking about yourselves and start thinking about the thousands who would have died if we didnt do something. Helping put a stop to Saddams reign of power was a good thing wether you believe it or not, shit like what happened in Spain and Baghdad would be happening no matter what it was just a matter of timing, the terrorists are threatened as they know we have a leader who wont take any shit in office. |

not done......but what about all that oil what is being looted? IMHO that's far worse than a bunch of souveniers that have been taken.....but yeah even that is something which should not have happened......kinda like this whole war thing.....at least not for the reasons that were used to attack..... |

Ever hear of the My Lai massacre? 514 Vietnamese civilians murdered by U.S. soldiers in one day, mostly women, children and the elderly. Not one shot was fired at U.S. troops. |
with countless US soldiers who died during the American led war in IRaq,
I don't think Sadam's riches is not enough to pay the casualties of war. If I was among the soldiers who fought Saddam's regime, i think its not wrong to steal from them.. every war has its expense even looting. |

you run your mouth on a message board about a war you didnt vote on, just a rock in a stream, you go with the flow. Quote:
you need to read this. http://www.house.gov/reform/min/pdfs...record_rep.pdf I can see why you would tie the two events (war and sept 11th) together, They fed you Saddam instead of Satruday Morning cartoons. Quote:
learn about peak oil and then tell me it has nothing to do with oil. I laugh in your face at the concept of it not being so. http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...F-8&q=peak+oil Quote:

The events you use as a pivot are in existence because of the actions you are fopr (war) or as you sheep call it, the "removal of a powerwful and evil dictator" Ill burn your church when the revolution begins. see you through the smoke. |

Secondly you too are running your mouth on a message board, did you ever serve in the US Military? Being a veteran I think I have every right to voice my opinion especially since I served during a democratic presidency. Why should I stop bringing up Spain & Baghdad? Becauses leftists like you think it was a sin to invade iraq? It is all terror, we are part of a unified coalition to put and end to terror, just because it was not against our people should we stop? Spain and Baghdad just prove a point that these people will stop at nothing to prove they will die for their cause regardless of the number of innocent lives they take. I am sure I can search the web and find all kinds of material that proves my point as well. The fact of the matter is that the war on terror is not just a US thing, it is a world thing, and we like many other countries should support each other to fight it. |

People are massacared everyday on both sides, its the greater good wether you think about it realistically or not. As much as it sucks to lose 1 person (which I would never want to happen) people will die in war, we lost a lot of good men in Vietname while people like John Kerry stood up with Hanoi Jane who ratted out the american troops who passed her SSN's to fight against the war. It's people like John Kerry who got US soldiers killed when they didnt stand up for their country. |
