Almost 70% of Canadians think Bush is a liar

Canadians overwhelmingly believe President George W. Bush lied to justify the Iraq war and their own government was wise to stay out of the conflict, a new poll suggests.

Two-thirds (67 per cent) of adult Canadians said they agreed with the statement that Mr. Bush "knowingly lied to the world to justify his war with Iraq" a year ago, The Globe and Mail-CTV News poll says.

Moreover, almost three-quarters (74 per cent) of the poll respondents said the federal government made the right decision by not joining the U.S.-led coalition that invaded Iraq, the polling data show.

So where are the 25% who think he's a stupid liar?

Sad when you think he may get another term and more chances to go and invade somewhere else.

I have seen George Tenet testify in open hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee several times now and he stated that US intel...as well as Israeli...British...French and German intel backed up what the Administration told the American people and the world about Iraq.

Funny, I don't see any of them as being trustworthy.
If intelligence in all those countries is so bad, then the incompetence is really scary and can be quite dangerous. They better learn to rely on proof instead of mere suspicion.

You know he lied, I know he lied. Anyone familiar with Iraq should've known, there's no excuse for such incompetence.

PiksalDesign 03-15-2004 06:10 AM

95% of americans KNOW hes a liar.

If you people in other countries think the majority of us support
Bush. Your wrong. Its just like Saddam. Some people supported
him. The others were forced to. Since I live in America, I am forced
to support my government by paying taxes, obeying the law, ect.
I dont directly support bush, I support America and what we
stand for. Freedom of choice, Opinion, Speach, and the Right to
persue a higher quality of life and education. Bush is just another
bad apple that America (most of) was fooled by. There have been
bad presidents, and there have been great ones. Its not a
perfect system, but its the best so far.

Believe it or not, there are enough men and women in congess
to not let some jackass like George W. Bush Jr. take over. Its
a fact that any government is corrupt, thats a given, any group
of men with power are going to abuse it now and then, or more
often, why they've sat back now, is beyond me, but i guaruntee
that those men and women, even in the top branches of
congress, are being lied to as well. Not one person can know
everything.

Ok, im ranting and rambling. My point is, Bush will be out of office
soon. We will have a new man in the seat, and things will change
for the better. People will soon forget all about the bastard and
move one. Things will happen.

I know and I'm more than impressed. That's what makes us proud to be US's neighbours. People in the US aren't stupid and they learn quickly from there mistakes. I personally don't think that any country would've reacted any better, including mine and I'm impressed to see that Bush's policies are already questioned by Americans.

Bush rocks....

bully_shyte 03-15-2004 07:12 AM

Will you allow one of those people from the north of the US to respond? Will you keep an open mind? Not Fucking likely. But hey, what they fuck!
First of all it shouldn't matter to Americans what Canadians think. If the American public are so very certain that Bush did the right thing then do what your leader did. Simply ignore the world community on the basis that "we are the U.S.A. and we can do any flaming thing we want!"
Was he right in going into Iraq? Yes! Did he go in for the right reasons? No! The unfortunate part about the war is that it was a political power play and as soon as you put a politician into any mix you are going to have a problem because, without quivocation, they are ALL liars, cheats, thieves, debauchers, whore mongers and hypocrits. That is not a direct indictment of American politicians but ALL of them. Believe me, Canada has more than its share of moronic fools who can twist and bend the facts with the very best.
Regardless of whether the US was right or wrong, they were perceived as being overtly aggressive and that is unfortunate because, once again, it is the political pundits that create the general view of Americans. Personally, I have never met an American I did not like but, then again, I have never met an American politician.
And for the record, that poll that was cited had statistical flaws and was tainted.

You only have to read what Hans Blix says to know that Bush wanted this war regardless of WMD. Now the fools are trying to explain it away as "Having a prescence and influence in the Middle East"

When will they wake up and realise that invading a country gives you the wrong prescence and a bad influence. The hate this action has sown, will be reaped for decades.

benc 03-15-2004 07:30 AM

So what you are saying is, we should let the likes of Hussein and Bid Laden to walk free and cause havoc whenever and where ever they feel like it.

I don't give a rats ass if we went in there for WMD or something else. These two assclowns wanted a fight and they got one...
If the US didn't do anything, who was going to?
