i look at it purely from the business point of view. not interested in the sex/parties/social lifestyle/etc. i'm here for the money, and the money only.

the only reason I attend the parties is to get the fuck out of the house...it's about money 99.9% of the rest of the time.

one of my employers told me...workd hard party harder.

I hate being social, but will go out when I feel that it will help my business.

heh, my first and only convention was summer Vegas 2001 internext.

may go to some others in the future, but only for the write off. great way to take a vacation i suppose.

I look at it as a business. Then again, I don't really consider what I do as "adult" more like generic data entry/processing/text writing. We can easily do the same tasks for NON adult companies.

Without the conventions I wouldn't really have a social life seeing I work really hard when I'm at the office. I use the conventions as a break and a way to socialize and do business with people. It's a nice balance having a gathering 2 or 3 times per year and I enjoy it.

the information you can LEARN associating with people in the same business as you is invalueable. esp ones playing on a higher level than you are.

anyone who thinks they can't or won't learn anything associating with the right people at conventions is a egoistical idiot.

The lost revenue in not going and finding things out is enormous. Also time - you can get ideas that can save you HUGE time associating with people in the same game as you are.

I haven't been to any conventions. I hope to go though. I'm more interested in small get togethers or dinners, rather than the parties. I don't like parties. So the party lifestyle, if that's what you're referring to, doesn't really interest me.

cancun is more for fun than anything - phoenix though - is one of the best conventions of the year. loaded with high end people and all confined to one place. Business networking paradise and only 3 weeks away! better than internext. If i had to choose only 2 conventions a year it would be the island gathering and phoenix forum. Whale central.

have fun in whistler - not much time with snow left thi year. enjoy it now while you can.
