I've had the same title under my name for a few years now.

I'm here for the $$ but i attend the parties to meet contacts and do business. I enjoy the parties and i like the people i meet.

It's all about the money. Just have to know when to NOT mix business with pleasure.

90% of our biz is through email, icq and the phone.

Not into the loud parties where no biz can be accomplished, but the small gatherings and the shows is important because you get a chance to meet people you deal with in person.

strictly biz.... Ive been to parties and not that comfortable around people that get out of control easily.

Id rather spend my time perfecting my craft and meeting people at conventions with arranged appointments rather than just floating about.

Adult is the same as corporate america in terms of business. You play ball with your friends.

Money period. I attend shows to make business contacts which makes me more money. Oh and the vacation is also nice. A lot of webmasters I meet I wouldn't associate with outside the biz however there are some that I would........

its a business for me. I have hobbies outside of this that take up most of my free time (which is allot).
Most of the parties thrown at the conventions are pretty lame, 5000 guys all sitting around talking about the 5 girls who showed up with their dates and how would like to "hit it" and what kind of studs they are...you know the drill :)

i know how you feel about conventions though - when i went in 2000 I HATED them. GFY has totally changed that landscape of them. I find them not much different than GFY - some idiots, and some people worth hanging with. - no different than any other aspect of life i guess.
