I need to drink. I think it's been almost 2 years. Maybe I'll celebrate my sig sale tomorrow with a liter of vodka.

The people who have been bitchin about it or questioning it are the people who will never be as successful as Lars...

Why question what the man does? What he does works. Try to learn something instead of cry about how it's not fair.

flashfire 02-28-2004 02:38 AM

12k for a sig...thats awsome, just think what he spends on other things

Tax write off maybe?

KRL 02-28-2004 11:08 AM

For the same reason Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Mike Myers, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, Harrison Ford, Nicolas Cage, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio, Vin Diesel, Cameron Diaz, Bruce Willis and Keanu Reeves get paid over $20 Million a film.

"Names" = Script gets read = Movie gets financed = Movie gets directed by a top director = Theaters want the movie = DVD distributors want the movie = Cable Networks want the move = TV Networks want the move = Foreign rights distributors want the movie = People go see the movie = A lot of popcorn and coca-cola is sold.

That's why in a nutshell.

:)

A great name is priceless.

I'm saying I'm not in any position to question such a thing unless I can claim at least a fraction of the amount of success he has.

With the successes he's had, I can only hope to learn from what he does. Not question it.

that shit's just beyond me. There is no way the 12 grant deal will make a big dent in Lars' profit in the next month.

Who is going to be shitting their pants from Sleazy promoting his products, when the whole wide world knows that Sleazy is getting paid a great amount of money to endorse it?

If a great and popular name promotes something they truely believe in, it's a little different than if the person gets paid shitloads to do so.

At least that's the effect that it usually has on me.

RP Fade 02-28-2004 11:41 AM

LOL..why is everyone trying to rationalize and make sense of everything? Lars is a big boy. He didn't get to where he is by not being smart and making wise business decisions. It's his money and he can wipe his ass with it if he chooses to. $12k to him is probably like $100 to most. I say let the market dictate the price..supply and demand.

To not question and just accept everything at face value leads you open to following people down the wrong path.

Look at religion.

You should always question everything, even if you think it's okay so that way you at least learn something about it or the person.

Sure, people can throw money out of the window, but that doesn't mean that everyone has to agree with it and say how much it r0x0rs and rulez.

If accepting everything is wrong, then so is questioning everything.

There has to be a balance... there needs to be some point, some instances where you can just accept that what is.... is.

Being a sheep is stupid, but being a paranoid conspiracy theorist is equally stupid.

Neither deserves to be an "everything"

You missed my point.

I'm not saying question everything just to be contradictory.

If you find something that is successful...question it...push it to it's limits trying to break it prove it's wrong...why?

So you can find out exactly why it is successful. ;)

You don't question it, you won't learn from it..the good and the bad.
