Some of the best retention grabbers?
 

What are they? Fresh content, and regular updates of course.

High quality feeds?

What else do you guys figure adds points directly onto the retention column?

Not only fresh content, but UNIQUE fresh content.

I personally wouldn't waste money on feeds.

Make the site different somehow.

An update list...so members know what's coming and when...

A script that says "last updated:" with a date for like the day before the present day

a gallery of the day even if it's old
a pic of the day even if it's old

people forgetting to cancel...

How about you just do an actual update everyday and put the real date it was done.......


Or is that just too far out a concept? :(

We do it 2 times a day with unique content -

it's going to work out the same either way....
the only exceptions are single girl sites and extremely unique sites, but general and generic sites, you can do either or both and it'll be the same as far as retentions go...

give away free stuff.
depending on the size of your site, 1-10 free dvds, calendars, tshirts, etc wouldn't cost you more than $100 and they'd help retention.
