This is causing a TONNE of buzz in the Science community regarding Mars. NASA has no released any information on this yet....

Notice in the horizon you'll see a black dot. When enlarged you'll determine that it has some structure to it. Here's a low quality close-up.

Wierd stuff. What is everyone's thoughts? A problem with a multi-million dollar camera which only shows up in 1 picture? UFO? I dunno...

It's a speck of dust on the lens.

If that was the case, it wouldn't appear on the next picture it took. If you look at the next picture, there was nothing there.

You tend to pick up shit like that when you are taking pictures on the far off land of Arizona

dust on the lens would not be that sharp. Chances are you wouldn't see it.

I say it's some bad RAM or the like. Was there a CRC error in the transmission?
