New French law to require pre-screening of websites and email for content
French ISPs protest digital economy bill
If the bill becomes law, it will force Internet service providers to filter Internet traffic and take responsibility for the content of Web pages they host, and will abolish e-mail's protected status as "private communication." French legislators have been influenced by the music industry into mandating ineffective filtering measures, which until now have only been imposed by states with little democratic freedom, such as Burma, China or Iran, AFA said. http://www.idg.com.sg/idgwww.nsf/uni...1?OpenDocument http://www.gofuckyourself.com/images/icons/mad2.gif When governments let the RIAA write the laws, we all get fucked. |
Looks like it's the time again for people in France to go marching in the streets in protest. There's no way this law should and will pass.
