Paypal has frozen Gammacash account
Recently I received the following from Gammacash:
Hi, unfortunately, we are unable to send the paypal payment you earned through your account that is part of our Cash Program. Paypal has just frozen our account (we don't know why yet) and we have no way of sending you your earnings through paypal at this time. . . . . . . . . |
:Oh crap
|
I use epassporte with them, hopefully it will not happen the same ...

No..
Paypal randomly freezes accounts all the time. Really. The volume might be too much, they might not like someone they sent $39.99 too, who knows. Paypal sucks ass. Period. It's NOT a reliable means to transfer money, and should be treated as a simple added convience if it works. I've had both personal and company accounts "frozen" for seemingly zero reason. One was just because I got in $1500+ in one day. WTF? Took weeks to get the money out. Other was we sent more than 2 grand in one day from the company account. That wasn't even against our account patterns so who knows why they decided to do it then. The chances of this being gammacashes fault are slim to none. Probably something totally retarded like they sent money to an affiliate who turned out to scam someone else. Or really anything. Of course, they put you through hell trying to get your money back and account turned on too. Usually takes at least a week of constant calling/faxing documents. I have no love for paypal at all. -Phil |
Remember when paypal was sending reps to get into adult?
How cool that could have been. |
:(

There was a recent post from an ex-executive at Paypal - a real eye opener :BangBang:

fuck em is what I say :321GFY

But Paypal's customer service has sucked from day one, and even with all of their supposed upgrades as they started making some money it still sucks balls. Although luckily the one dispute I had was resolved in my favor, anyway, **knock on wood** |
PayPal doesn't accept any adult biz anymore... so adult companies should stop trying to payout through them is my opinion... ePassporte is way better.
|
paypal is not a way to do business. period.

PAYPAL STOPPED TAKING ADULT BUSINESS AGES AGO. We use to take money via Paypal, very swee. Charged under 5%, no hold back, no fraud and no real problems that we could not sort out with customer services who were very helpful. Wish they would come back into Adult. :( All you Paypal haters can stick to the 15% less 10%, plus the chance of them going belly up with your money. :1orglaugh Or you could try Probilling. :1orglaugh |

When we opened a Paypal account we had to tell Paypal how much they charged our credit card and this should have been via the credit card statement. So how can someone with a stolen credit card know this? Also what he suggets is criminal and if anyone left Paypal they could practically name their own figure as a "Golden Handshake" not be threatened. What are they going to threaten them with? Tell the plice and we will send our cell mate to beat you up. If this were for real it would put bosses in prison. As usual the same old BS that too many swallow. |
Has a viable alternative to PayPal for general e-commerce sites ever appeared? All the newer payment people are either country specific (ie nochex is uk only, yowcow dollars only etc) or totally unsuitable for generic e-commerce (e-passporte is a great example). Seems to be that (for non-adult at least) paypal still has the market pretty much sewn up. Nobody else offers the same features so people will continue to use them despite the BS.

GammaCash deserved to have their account frozen IMHO. PayPal clearly Stopped all adult processing last year....:2 cents: :2 cents:

I read an article in Money magazine (or something similar) about Paypal's problems in this very regard. They have so many damn accounts and they have a system that shuts your account down if there are any anomalies, like the dude above who received $1500 in one day.
The problem isn't shutting your account down, it's how long it takes to get it back up and running again. It's all in the customer service. I swear they have a team of monkeys manning the phones over there. They pick up the phone, scream into your ears for a few seconds, then hang up and fling some poop against the wall. Good luck getting an email answered too. Isn't it kind of surprising though, considering they're an Ebay company, and Ebay is an enormous and well run organization. In conclusion, Paypal blows. |

Sooner or later they can (and belive me they will) put your account on hold for any reason they whish not just for "adult" biz. If there isn't any reason for you, they are using "We've randomly selected your account" excuse for that.
When that happens, fate of your money (if there is any) and your account will be totaly up to them. run away from there, FAST! :321GFY |

Where I work, we require a cardholder to enter their card number, 3 digits of their postal code and their birthdate if they're calling from home. If not, they must also enter the last 4 digits of their home number. With that information entered correctly, they'll receive their balance, last payment made, payment due date and the amount of the last five transactions posted to their account. If they wanted to get the Paypal confirmation number, they'd have to speak to a phone agent who would verify name, address and two pieces of information that are not shown on a statement or generally not found on a statement. And it's even harder to get the information online. |
Release my funds !!!! :BangBang:

I think it was becasue they were operating at 5% and could not afford to be slip shod like some of the third party processors. Who at 15% can take on the fraudsters. Well not now that Visa has said enough. |

As of 1 minute ago, I am now using epassporte with them too. :thumbsup |
Paypal is really a bunch of thieves I got a bullshit email from them not a long time ago saying that my account was maybe "accessed" by other persons which is a load of bullshit and want me to send them my licences and everything. I'll never use them again.
|
epassporte makes you send an email to get set up or call them :eek7 wy not have a online form to sign up and get going anyways anyone know what their fees are? yahoo has direct pay or some shit i have but dont use at this time
|
charly, you'd be amazed what you can do these days. For $100 you can buy a credit card with at least $1000 credit available and online account access. Same for bank accounts. Nothing is safe from fraud.
|
I've had a PayPal account ever since they opened. Never had a problem with them.
However I never leave more than $50 in it, with all these horror stories, better not taking any chances...:2 cents: |
