Catastrophy after Internext!

So we take a little extra time after the show, since it was such a great show...and get home late Friday evening.

We get home to find out our home has been catastrophically damaged due to our pipes freezing and then exploding on all 3 levels of our home.

My office was in the basement, and all of that furniture and computers...ruined as water was standing 3 inches in the basement.

Ceilings coming down everywhere.

Not a great way to come home from InterNext.

Needless to say, we're at a close hotel to the house as we have to immediately move out of the house as its inhabitable for 3 - 4 months.

So we're forced to make a move somewhere!

We're not quite sure...at this point it's between Ft. Lauderdale and ScottsDale, Az.

I am just getting online, but will be randomly online throughout this jacked up disaster. So email or cell is best.

tbabe 01-11-2004 05:51 PM

wow, that is fucked up

sorry to hear

Libertine 01-11-2004 05:53 PM

Sorry to hear that man. Hope you quickly manage to find a good place to stay.

BRISK 01-11-2004 05:54 PM

Do you have insurance?

MagicksAntics 01-11-2004 05:55 PM

Scottsdale :)

Sarah - GTS 01-11-2004 05:55 PM

That is HORRIBLE! I hope your insurance company is cooperating. Good luck.

Pornwolf 01-11-2004 05:56 PM

Sad to hear that bro. I had something similar happen to me so I know the losses suck big time.

If you are gonna choose one of the two pick Ft. Lauderdale. (No tarantulas on your patio unlike in AZ)

brand0n 01-11-2004 05:57 PM

myrtle beach sc is always nice. and i can always use a new friend =]

LasseKongos 01-11-2004 05:58 PM

RP Fade 01-11-2004 05:58 PM

Aren't you supposed to turn off the water or ask the city to do that if you're absent for an extended period of time when it's freezing?

Sorry to hear that..hope for the best.

TheJimmy 01-11-2004 05:59 PM

Steve Lightspeed

tony286 01-11-2004 06:00 PM

I would pick FL dont have ever worry about pipes freezing. lol Sorry to hear that happened , samething happened to a friend of mine lived in a hotel for 4 months luckly his insurance picked up the whole tab.

Mr.Soze 01-11-2004 06:01 PM

Damn that sucks....

Someone broke into my car as I was moving to Spain a year ago,
lost both my laptop and office computer, a dvd player, leather jacket and tons of other shit....

Worst thing was that the only partial data backup I had was like 6 months old.
Been taking a lot more backups after that.

I feel with you :(

PurrrsianPussyKat 01-11-2004 06:01 PM

Oh man. I am so sorry to hear that. :(

Hope you are able to get your home fixed and your possessions replaced with your homeowners insurance.

Brad Xtremepay 01-11-2004 06:06 PM

:( That's terrible. We had our house flood a few months back. Know what it's like.

Let me know if I can do anything for you!

SEGuru 01-11-2004 06:08 PM

We do have insurance...thank god.

Although we have a claim number, no agent has spoke to us yet.

So we are unsure of how it will all pan out.

This wasn't isolated either. 75 other homes got nailed in our immediate area.

COLD WEATHER STATES CAN NOW KISS MY ASS.

MuleScrote 01-11-2004 06:08 PM

Damn that blows :(

Water damage is nasty shit....hope you get to rebuild soon.

J.R. 01-11-2004 06:11 PM

We came home to the same thing in Spokane, WA.

Water was running full force into my snow covered backyard
and into my basement.

Lucky for us, the water hit the slab and ran down and the greenboard backing kept 99% of the water out.

We had a soaked basement bedroom but luckily that
was it. It was -10 when we were in Vegas.

Peter Romero 01-11-2004 06:14 PM

Move into my 4 bedroom 3 bath, pool/jacuzzi house in LA - trade services for rent till you get on your feet. No kids. Serious. I have a real estate agent (lease or buy) who specializes in working with professionals in the porn biz. ICQ me.

TheJimmy 01-11-2004 06:17 PM

I've lived in FL and I've lived in AZ...

I would take Scottsdale or Tucson any day over FL....

1) I can't stand humidity
2) I don't like mosquitos 9mos out of the year
3) I don't like hurricanes...

I had the displeasure of loosing a car and a lot of furniture and crap during Hurricane Andrew...

I've lived off and on for a few years in AZ and if you are looking for a warm place to chill out I'd GO there for sure....nice, dry, close to Cali for biz trips or party runs...

Peaches 01-11-2004 06:21 PM

Here in GA they ALWAYS tell us to leave our pipes dripping if it's going to be below 32. I've also always been told that in the "cold" states, people don't have to do that because the pipes are more underground than ours are - apparently not. :(

Best of luck - make sure you document EVERYHING!!!!

myjah 01-11-2004 06:28 PM

that sucks. hope the insurance company comes thru for you. at least you had some stuff packed already. Good Luck!

jawanda 01-11-2004 06:30 PM

That SUCKS man. Sorry to hear it. A friend of mine in Tahoe came home to the same thing after ThanksGiving, horrible.

Ever been to Santa Barbara? About an hour from LA, but one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Cali (no smog!)...75 Degrees today.

Good luck man! Hope your insurance company calls ya back.

MadCap 01-11-2004 06:31 PM

SEGuru 01-11-2004 07:06 PM

We really appreciate all of your well wishes. This has been nutty for us.

My ICQ lit up like a christmas tree. You guys have great big hearts, and we luv you guys too.

Kimmykim 01-11-2004 07:09 PM

If you guys want to rent my house, let me know, I'm out of Az next month for LA, price is good. I mentioned it to your wife when I talked to her on the phone last nite, she's been there before. :)

Tylo 01-11-2004 07:10 PM

Ft. Lauderdale is awesome been here for a year and while everywhere else is cold its nice as hell right now..

Sorry to hear about your house.. Hope everything gets better for you in the new year :)

Zprogramz 01-11-2004 07:11 PM

Scottsdale sucks. Screw the desert. It is like Iraq there. Fort Lausderdale or Socal is much more desirable.

Ironhorse 01-11-2004 07:17 PM

Man that's horrible, good thing you guys have insurance though, I hope it comes through for you soon.

mardigras 01-11-2004 07:17 PM

I have the same issues...except that the Hurricane Parties are kewl!

Thinking of putting everything in storage for 6 months and renting something fully furnished in Lauderdale on the beach!

venturi 01-11-2004 07:20 PM

OMG! That reminds me of when we (my family) moved from Shreveport to Kansas. LA (the state) had a horrid winter and that happended to our former home. Geez, what a mess. I feel for ya man! And I MEAN IT!

flashfire 01-11-2004 07:21 PM

Dude, Hurricane/Typhoon parties rock but you can't beat 350 days of sunshine. Arizona is the way to go mon. :)

JEBUSS!!!! What happened there!?

Sorry to hear about flood out.. I can't even imagine coming home to that. You must have lost your nut for a few minutes.

My next door neighbor has water pouring out from under his garage door right now as I type this... I think his outside hose bib was still on and its like 10 degrees out there.

Good luck with the recovery. :(

xdcdave 01-11-2004 08:14 PM

wow that really sucks dude.. of your choices I would pick Ft. Lauderdale. Feel free to contact me if you want recommendations on neighborhoods down here or anything like that.

Jamdin 01-11-2004 08:21 PM
