No, most times as you get more money you start going outside the US for opportunities and to protect yourself against just that. Lots of guys trade currencies and such.

Also, if you look in Forbes every year they do an article on the costs of living well and show each year's comparison prices for luxury items.

The price of big boy toys keeps skyrocketing. So the more wealthy you get you got to layout more bucks for the fun stuff.

I agree ,although the tidbits gathered are useful but nobody is going to help anybody.They are afraid of competition.
I know it also takes a lot of hard work, alot of luck and thousands of $ to make a go at it. I have tried many things but nothing really seems to make it. *Sigh* maybe one day :(

i'd say its more the lifestyle you've grown acustom to that makes you feel you can't retire on 5 mil. where i live most ppl have their pensions to retire on at best. they would shit bricks to have half a million let alone 5 mil to retire on.

Florida high end dropped pretty hard. Nobody wants the colossal estates anymore. One broker friend said once you go over 12,000 sq ft, you have to discount heavy if you need to move it fast.

Being "rich" is relative to the company you keep. Hang out with a bunch of TGP kids, you may be rich. Hang out with the inner circle of the biz, you may be poor.

For a while $10 big ones was feeling rich. But I think that's at least doubled. Most guys I know in the 10 range aren't living very big.

And $10mil in Florida is one thing. $10mil in Dallas is BIG ballin.
