Fireworks VS Photoshop
i use photoshop,, never even used Fireworks,,,
which one do u guys use? |
If I could only pick one it would be PS... but FW is pretty dam good and very fast to work with on web graphics... the font previewer is great IMO can't belive PS still dosn't have that..
|
photoshop hands down.
|
This is a kinda silly question in my opinion. You and everyone else knows damn well you use photoshop over anything else, not even necessarily because its the best because i know a few things where it lacks from other programs, but... its the industry standard.
But if you're serious about graphics you should probably have a few of the other programs as well. So I say, use both. |
this is a stupid comparison.

Use whatever you know best. Fireworks for me but I can't design worth a damn anyways.

FWMX.
I use Photoshop for browsing directories, only when PSP8 isn't working right on Targa files. (about all PS is good for) |
Photoshop... dumb question
|
PS is ass.... too proprietary. Very unfriendly format. Very harsh environment. Very unintuitive. Serious overkill.
If you're into some hardcore print graphics... okay. But for the Net? Fuck PS. FWMX is the bomb. Adobe needs to get with the fucking times. |
The only good artist I know that uses FW is Amp and his shit is sick as hell. But personally, I use PS.
|
Photochop needs to get over itself. What takes one click in Fireworks takes several clicks in PS. How can anyone justify using it?

PS is overkill. |
there isn't a DAMN thing you PS fuckers can do in PS that I can't do in FWMX.
and THAT.... is the glove being thrown down. |
Quote:
I'd like to see you launch adobe.com from within fireworks. Now pick up your fucking glove. :Graucho |
Amp, not everyone is a pro :glugglug
|
Quote:
even your PS humor is lame. |
Quote:
thus, you got OWNED, and I don't even use Photoshop. :Graucho |
ya photoshop for me too...image ready included

All the more reason NOT to use something like PS.... PS is great software, no doubt. But like I said, it's overkill. WAY too complicated, unfriendly, unforgiving, unintuitive, and generally, hard to conquer. For what these people are doing.... it's like using a flamethrower to light a cigarette. PS is nice... but it's too much. I know people that SHOULD be using PS..... and they are. The rest of you, well... you're chumps to be brutally honest. |
Quote:
and that's why you're sitting in a dark room, remaining unknown to the world, hacking away in your PS..... and taking cheap shots at me. I say again... lol. :glugglug |
you do sooooo use PS. You can fool these people, but don't be tryin' to lie to me. LOL :Graucho
|
My room is well lit.
And although I own PS, I don't use PS, I never have. |
I'm a photoshop junkie :helpme
|
I dare you to show me a source file.
I'll show you one of mine, you show me one of yours. And no 30 minute delays while you convert. |
Quote:
you wouldn't be able to open my source files in Fireworks or PS without converting them first. |
Quote:
you're a slave to the PS propaganda. :glugglug |
you and I both know.... you're using PS or FWMX..... and if you're not, you're using PSP, and that makes you a fool. PSP is nice for certain tasks, but it's certainly not a source solution.
|
Amp, you got something I could look at that you made with FW?
As for photoshop being overkill, not anymore, I upgraded to 1 gig of ram... it just barely fits now... so long as I don't run any filters... |
besides... I've seen your stuff. And while it's definately pro, it's screaming PS.
You can lie to these people till the GFY cows come home..... but I recognize that shit bro. :winkwink: |

Don't get me started.
You don't know shit.. I've been using PSP since day one. |

photoshop all the way
|
don't get me wrong here.... I said, PS is good software. I personally happen to think it's WAY too much for what we're doing. Major overkill.
FWMX has PS beat hands down for web work. It's all about mastery of the toolz baby. Fuck being a slave to anything. :glugglug |
Macromedia suite, that means Fireworks. PS is to cumbersum.
If you're doing print media use PS on a MAC (its different than on a PC). If you married to a MAC for emotional reasons use PS. If you own stock in Adobe use PS. If you're a serious web designer, use FW and Dreamweaver. Notepad is a must too. |

I was using TheDraw doing ANSI graphics for BBS's back in 1989 |
I use Fireworks, because I have a licence of it :)
and for the usual work it gives you enough tools to your hand |

it's fucking bullshit. I started doing pornsites in PSP and HotDog, and I still do pornsites in newer versions PSP and HotDog. |

you claim "x" amount of years in PSP.... I counter. I've used many a software.... Windows Draw..... hell, all the way back to the first run of MS Paint. Means absolutely nothing if you're not able to adapt. Those that cannot change and adapt, die. FWMX is superior for web work. Period. PS is great.... always has been. But it it far too overbearing for the task at hand. And PSP simply doesn't measure up. It's a tool, to be used in the early stages.,... I use it for browsing directories only. Perfect for that. Step up.... or step off. On a side note, I'm finding some humor and pleasure that you and I are the only ones engaged in this level of the discussion.... that says something. You and I both know it bro. :winkwink: |
From what I have read (not all the posts) it looks like im in the minority. I cant think of anything you can do in ps that I can do in FW. Atleast nothing i have tried to do yet. Its very powerfull and very fast, but damn if i can find many pros using it, oh well, Ill still use fireworks, it does what I need it to do.. :thumbsup

"Those that cannot change and adapt, die."
been hearing that one for a long time as well. Change is overrated. |

yeah... where are all the other designers?
Is it bed time in pakistan, and the mouthpieces have nothing to say? |

shouldn't you be submitting a fucking gallery or something? |
For you doubters, I would say, my non-existant portfolio speaks for itself. 100% done in Macromedia FW & DW.
No, there is no url. If you don't know, then consider yourself a clueless dumbass. If I was to actually make a portfolio today, it'd take me three months to put it together. If you're in the know..... you know. |
