Who going to see the next; "Lord of the Rings" Movie?

Have you read the Books? Will you read the books. Or just loved the movie?

I did both. Can't wait to see the final installment. Hopefully they also make a film version of the Silmarillon

And "the Hobbit"

clubsexy 12-04-2003 04:49 PM

My girlfriend is just in love with Legolas (sp?)

So I am sure opening day, we will be there just like the last two.

bhutocracy 12-04-2003 04:51 PM

read the books years and years ago, eagerly awaited each film release.
I wish they wouldn't pussy out and run a back to back marathon with the final release, but they reckon no one would sit through 3 3 hour movies.. fucking pussies, they've obviously never met an adult webmaster.

badmunchkin 12-04-2003 05:00 PM

I will definitely be there - I was a huge fan of the books for many years - I was a bit dissappointed in all the changes they made in the last installment but overall the movies still kick-ass over anything else that's out there... :)

MetaMan 12-04-2003 05:03 PM

Virtually every cinema over here is doing one those. Unfortunately, they sold out a while ago, and I wasn't able to get tickets :(

RaGe 12-04-2003 06:34 PM

I'm seeing it the first day it comes out for sure. I read the books a couple years before the movies came out, they were pretty sick.. the movies did a pretty good job I think.

sacX 12-04-2003 06:41 PM

fuck yes :).. they were made in my home town, great for property prices :)

- AFN - 12-04-2003 06:42 PM

Can't wait to see it. NZ is beautiful

TheEnforcer 12-04-2003 06:47 PM

strobi 12-04-2003 07:08 PM

bastard! I read in the paper yesterday they weren't doing it here.. but im sure a cinema SOMEWHERE here will do it. I know they did it on the goldcoast with the matrix trilogy, and the final installment screened at 1am which would have been great - you'd miss all the kids parents and older siblings bring in and snotty teenagers that talk through the whole thing.. only the fanatics that actaully want to see it go ... I wish all cinema was like that... either that or seat tazers where you can elect to shock row 7 seat 28 into unconsciousness when they won't shut the fuck up or take care of their annoying brat.

Why waste time reading the books when you can watch all of the movies within a day??

xroach 12-04-2003 07:48 PM

made the mistake of going to the first one in the theatre so i saw it all .. made it about 20 minutes into the second one before i had to shut it off.

Yeah, I read a Peter Jackson interview - he'll be filming a remake of King Kong and hopes he'll be picked for Hobbit, the Movie

Addam - RichRealm 12-05-2003 06:34 AM

This thread would be easier if you said who isn't going to see it :) I loved the second one more than the first so I'm looking forward to the third!

I'm pretty sure this baby isn't going to let me down like the Matrix 3 did:mad:

liquidmoe 12-05-2003 06:36 AM

I thought the second's story was a bit too choppy but still an enjoyable movie, definitely going to check out the third. :thumbsup

BRISK 12-05-2003 07:26 AM

The New Zealand scenery in the films is beautiful :glugglug

Tala 12-05-2003 07:27 AM

I'll see it, I hope. I'll be recovering from surgery, so might not get to see it in the theater.

I have read the books and so far have loved the movies. :thumbsup

I have not read the books; but, when I'm sick, my husband reads them to me. Puts me right to sleep.

I will not read the books.

Loved the movies.

Pre ordered tickets for opening day from Fandango.

CaroMark 12-05-2003 07:57 AM

There was a special on ABC about the movie last night that was very interesting, some very good backgrond material on the making of the movie.

For any of you fans who have not seen it yet the new extended version of the Two Towers has some excellent additional footage! They really added some beautiful scenes of the New Zealand countryside and the scenes with the hobbits finding the pipeweed and not offering to share with Treebeard was great!:thumbsup

DirtyRider 12-05-2003 08:21 AM

Never read the book, but man i can't wait to see the movie. Hope its good though.

triumph 12-05-2003 08:29 AM

I hate reading books, I will definitely see the movie.

Bansheelinks 12-05-2003 09:22 AM

I already have my tickets for the very first showing.........if the 3rd one lives up to the first two, this trilogy will be this generations "Godfather"..........its that good.
