I will definitely be there - I was a huge fan of the books for many years - I was a bit dissappointed in all the changes they made in the last installment but overall the movies still kick-ass over anything else that's out there...

I know they did it on the goldcoast with the matrix trilogy, and the final installment screened at 1am which would have been great - you'd miss all the kids parents and older siblings bring in and snotty teenagers that talk through the whole thing.. only the fanatics that actaully want to see it go ... There was a special on ABC about the movie last night that was very interesting, some very good backgrond material on the making of the movie.
For any of you fans who have not seen it yet the new extended version of the Two Towers has some excellent additional footage! They really added some beautiful scenes of the New Zealand countryside and the scenes with the hobbits finding the pipeweed and not offering to share with Treebeard was great!
