Give CANADA some respect
 

For one of my projects, we've been hand filling out a lot of prog application forms. Actually hundreds. One thing I keep noticing is that the country selection forms do not realistically reflect population pool of webmasters. In particular, most programs have the US (correctly so due to sheer numbers of webmasters and origin of the programs in question) as the default choice. However, instead of the EU countries or CANADA being the next choice its usually Uganda scrolling up or something like that.

First, no disrespect to the webmasters in Kampala, but shouldn't this be Canada or at least a European (affiliate accepted) country since there's a higher likelihood of webmasters being from those countries?

Just a minor quibble. But hey, lets give our Canadian and EU friends more respect...since many of the other countries in a typical country drop down shouldn't even be there since many processors/sponsors don't take traffic from those locales.

to be honest, whenever im filling out a form, i doesnt bother me that i have to scroll to get to canada... basicly, you open the drop down box, then push "c" a few times, it'll take you right to canada... course, it still gets annoying, cause those are 3 seconds i could have been using to masterbate. :2 cents:

Canada is great. I live right on the border between Canada and the U.S. so I get the best of both worlds. The "small town" living of Canada and a big city of the U.S. minutes away.

What are the cultural differences between Canada and the US? I mean, everyone knows there's less crime in Canada and it tends to be cleaner. But any other difference? If it came down to it, would Canadians agree to be absorbed into the US?

There are plenty of cultural differences. Driving 30 minutes to cross the border into northern WA is like stepping into a different world.

the last major public opinion poll on that issue showed 20% of Canadians would be ok with some kind of union with the United States.

Why do people seem to think either country would merge? Is there some great need for a mega super country or something?

Should Mexico merge with the US too?

Maybe all of South America should be one big country?

Ireland and the UK are very similar, should they also merge?

What about Australia and New Zealand? Maybe that should be one country?

Yeah shitty tax rate. We have much less ignorant and stupid people, on the other hand we also have much less bright people :) But less people overall. Oh and most people around here aren't religious.
