Murdered US Soldiers Beaten with Concrete Blocks

Gunmen killed two American soldiers today while they were driving through the northern Iraqi city of Mosul and a crowd swarmed over the scene, looting the vehicle and pummelling the bodies, witnesses said.

Elsewhere, another US soldier was killed in a roadside bombing north of Baghdad, and three American civilian contractors were injured in an explosion in the northern oil centre Kirkuk. Initial reports said the blast was due to a mortar, but Lt. Col. Matt Croke said officials later concluded it was a bomb.

First reports quoted witnesses as saying the assailants slit the soldiers? throats during the attack in Mosul?s Ras al-Jadda district. The 101st Airborne Division, however, said the soldiers were shot as they were driving between US garrisons.

Several other witnesses also said the soldiers were shot.

Bahaa Jassim, a teenager who saw the attack, said the vehicle crashed into a wall after the shooting. Several dozen passers-by descended on the vehicle, opening the door. After the bodies fell into the street, the crowd pummelled the bodies with concrete blocks and looted the car, stealing the weapons and backpacks, Jassim said.

He said a US patrol arrived and cordoned off the area.

A 4th Infantry Division soldier was killed today and two others were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in Baqouba, 35 miles north-east of Baghdad, the military said. US officials also said the chief of police in Latifiyah, about 20 miles south of Baghdad, was killed today along with several of his officers. They gave no further details.

They sure have a funny way of expressing their gratitude.

What gratitude? Should they be happy their whole country is out of control and that even have less food than before?

There is little to no trouble in the North and little to no trouble in the South...which constitutes 70-80 percent of Iraq. It is in the "Sunni Triangle" where 90 plus percent of the trouble is occuring...and it is there that the majority of the former Baathists and Saddam loyalists reside.

Three different polls...the last that I am aware of was taken by Gallup...have shown that 60-70% of Iraqi's do not want America to withdraw...so I will repeat that the "Sunni Triangle" contains the largest population of Baathist party members and Saddam loyalists...and it is they and "foriegn fighters/terrorists" that are the problem and not the general population of Iraqi people.

i happen to not be in U.S.A and i happen to get you channels on sattelite, so im vey well informed of what your news reporters report. And im also informed on the slant they put on things just as U.S.A. does on stories as well.

You need to take all the facts and base your opinion on them , not just one narrow minded opinion of ONE news statin or country who may or may not have their own agenda on why they report something. Sometimes the bigger news is in what is NOT being reported not in what is being reported.

The difference between US TV news and European TV news:

* The US TV stations are based on selling commercials <=> The European TV stations are often paid for by yearly fees that all with a telly have to pay.

* US TV therefore has to give the viewers tons of "Breaking News", "This just in", "Live from Baghdad" in order to hold the fickle interest of the viewers <=> European TV can take its time to tell the whole story, even if it takes one hour or more - without ad breaks.

* The result: I learnt more about the first Gulf war by watching one hour of German TV than one month of CNN. (I gave my TV away since then).

And this benefits the American people HOW?

And if you say "hey, we've helped out these people out" as your reason for the US being there..then why don't we just invade all the countries in the world with down and out people?
