FCC Aproves The Word Fuck on TV and Radio

Are you for it or against it?
The Federal Communications Commission has approved the use of the "F" word for use on any TV show or radio program, ANYTIME DAY OR NIGHT!

The FCC said the word can be used whenever desired except in sexual situations!

That means that real soon you will be watching a sit-com on TV, or news, or any drama or movie-ANY PROGRAM-and it is ok! Hollywood is rejoicing!

Soon, when you are driving your kids to school you will be listening to a song which makes extensive use of the word. Shock jocks such as Howard Stern are now free to use any language, no matter how vile and repugnant, on their radio shows. And use it they will.

No longer will movies shown on TV have to be edited because of language.

TAKE ACTION BELOW

Please send you letter now. And please forward this letter to your email list asking them to get involved. If it isn't stopped now, in a few months the FCC will rule that it is acceptable in sexual situations. Verbal pornography will rule the airways!

Thanks for getting involved!

GREAT FUCKING NEWS!! :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

BrentD 11-15-2003 10:50 AM

Guess it doesn't matter to me, USA is the only country that tries to hide this stuff from children, other countries are very open with sexuality and profane words on tv along with nudity and such on regular tv as well as pay tv.

Our kids are going to sneek it in when they can anyway, might as well be open with it.

IntenseCash 11-15-2003 10:51 AM

I still dont feel comfortable for kids to be hearing it... Once this starts, who calls the limit? How far is too far?

TaraD 11-15-2003 10:53 AM

doesnt matter to me I monitor my kids television anyway and any parent who doesn't is just asking for trouble.

Tha parents do!! At least in my house. I am not opposed to my kids seeing a naked body, but if there are sexual undertones, I am against it....... meaning if a girl on a movie is going from shower to bedroom to get dressed, I am fine with this..... but if she is getting naked to go and fuck some guy or whatever, I don't want them seeing this.

Same with language, I am not a HUGE monitor of words in my house. I, as a parent, have far more greater concerns than if they hear the word fuck, hell that's like one of my main words most of the time and they don't say it. My kids know that there are boundaries and they know where they are because WE taught them, not because the TV and Radio taught them. They know I can say pretty much what I want, and while it may or may not be attractive, I am an adult and when they get to be an adult, they can then say and do as they please as well.

I guess what I am trying to say here is, my kids know as according to thier ages, what is acceptable and what isn't, and this was MY doing, not TV and Radio, it's MY job to monitor them, no one elses. :winkwink:

So I vote go for it, it's no worse than what they hear on the streets, at school or here at home. They are words, plain and simple.

TaraD 11-15-2003 11:01 AM

I know many parents who have said fuck atleast once in front of there kids and not only that I am sure she is learning a hell of allot worse in school. not like i say it all the time and why are we even discusing my parenting skills when you don't know me from adam nor are here to see me parent my child? That was definatly not the pole nor would i judge someone just because they say fuck once in a while:)

Rictor 11-15-2003 11:05 AM

Who fucking cares? It's just a word. There's no way they will be using it anytime of the day. They won't be using "fuck" in cartoons or during daytime or prime time TV...maybe after 10pm when you kids should be in bed anyway or maybe after one of those "mature content" disclaimers they put before every show that has sexual content, strong language, or explicit violence. If I had kids, I'd be more concerned about the violence than naughty words. You can block adult tv programs with the v-chip that's in your TV if you want. OR you could actually be a good parent and not let your children watch TV without supervision.

Yes you can. They even made fun of this same situation on South Park and used "Shit" 162 times in one 30 min episode.

CDSmith 11-15-2003 11:07 AM

You know, I hear my idiot brother and his idiot wife saying 'fuck' in front of their two small children all the time, yet no government agency is shitting their pants over it or trying to regulate it, or censor it. People have a choice of whether to say it in front of their kids or not, and people have a choice of what programs to watch. I don't think it is right that small children be exposed to the foulness of human existence so early in life, but it IS about time some people (censorists) face the fact that words like 'fuck' are part of everyday speech on this fucking planet.

I personally could live without it during the day, but at night when the more mature shows are on I have really come to resent the forced censorship that many stations have embraced. Babysit the kids, let adults choose to see and hear what they want without some poindexter in a cutting room deciding that for us.

So basically its ok for them to say it in their daily routine. I am not a parent yet, but I know it?s impossible to monitor your kids constantly. So kids know they are not supposed to say it when they are around their friends but do anyway because they can?t get caught. But I suppose if kids hear it all the time on TV that it?s ok to say it all the time. I am not worried about the language; I am more worried about showing sex on TV and them being susceptible to everything in the adult word. It?s just going to make jobs harder for parents because they have to monitor everything on the TV before your kids sit down in front of it. Don't tell me you can monitor everything your kids watch or do.

Allot of parents are too lazy to do that that is why they are bitching about it. Words are Words to me like someone else said I am more concerned about the violence and as long as there is a disclaimer what is the big deal?

My kids are not aloud to say it period I let my nine year old slip once in a while with the word shit but very rarely. I agree with the sex thing as well they learn so much already at a early age it is hard. I know my 9 year old was asking questions at the age of 7-8 about babies and such but she is very mature for her age as well. When it comes to sex in the movies and tv she isn't aloud to watch it but if it is a female walking from shower to her room to get dressed that is one thing she sees that at home with me so i see no difference.

you say fuck infront of your kids yet you dont want them to hear it on tv?

its a lot worse to hear a parent say it rather than a tv...
parents should set examples... shouldn't they?

stocktrader23 11-15-2003 11:26 AM

Big deal, your kids hear every word in the book at school.

How common does a word have to get before it isn't "dirty" anymore?

Saying cusswords isn't talking dirty, I can talk dirty without ever using a 4 letter word.

At my childrens ages which are 9 and 3 yes i do monitor everything they watch and do because i can because they are still young yet:) If it was up to my husband brent my 9 year old wouldnt be aloud to watch teen nick LOL There are even some things on there i wont let her watch. I have cartoon network locked out because i dont care for most of the cartoons on there they are stupid and meaningless and some are even ignorant. If i know that scooby is on or other old time cartoons I will put the pass in for her to watch it but other than that she isnt aloud to watch that channel. I have caught her once trying to watch HBO nothing bad was on but she knows unless i say it is ok she doesnt watch it

If it wasnt for the sexual content in 8 mile I would have allowed my daughter to watch it. The baby sitter snuck and let her watch the movie but made her close her eyes and ears at the sexual parts. I wasn't to happy because of the sexual content of the movie. Needless to say she isnt my baby sitter any more LOL If it was just the rapping and cursing i would not have gave a shit

Furious_Female 11-15-2003 11:35 AM

I'm 23 years old and have NEVER cussed in front of my mother in my life. Never even said hell or damn. Even though I grew up around my parents and family that always swore, I always knew not to and I still don't do it in front of my mom because I'm so used to not saying anything foul, even though it wouldn't offend her lol. I have no problem listening to Eminem in the car with her (yeah my mom likes him too) or watching South Park with her. We have always thought it's hilarious when people cuss!

I think it's great they allowed FUCK out of the cage :thumbsup I was wondering why I never heard shit though... I did see the South Park episode that they said it over and over... I always thought of Comedy Central as a premium channel and not mainstream like NBC or CBS.

Either way, I don't think it's wrong to swear in front of kids. It depends how the words are used. If the words are being used in an argument or sexually, then I don't think parents should fight in front of their kids period or discuss sex. But in everyday conversation, kids already know the words and it doesn't affect the way they grow up, from what I see. And if they grow up and have a foul mouth... who fuckin cares :1orglaugh

TaraD 11-15-2003 11:40 AM

I am like that to around my mom heheehh but my dad on the other hand me and him are like sailors when we are together LOL

DarkJedi 11-15-2003 11:43 AM

they ruled the same way on full frontal nudity over 15 years ago... do you see it on TV? No.
networks and stations have their own standards and practices departments that don't want to piss people off to the point of boycotting advertisers.

Pretty sad when a simple conversation can't be mature enough that it has to turn to statments such as these? :(

Yep theres a huge difference between "What the fuck are you doing?" and "I'd like to fuck her hard" in front of your kids.

The content of the way it is said makes all the difference.

WoW! Some of you are SOO right! Let's just let them cuss! Hey give them some beer too ir is that next year? Don't try to teach them about safe sex either. They see that practiced via school so often they will ALL automatically know how to do that! Right?

So much for a child growing up with an air of innocence around them. So that they can grow and learn without worrying QUITE as much about getting grabbed or shot down in a driveby or schoolyard...

...because SOME parent didn't bother to teach their kid how to behave. When we were kids, we *knew* better. Not so now. And there are prime examples of that right in this thread.

Yes we heard the words but knew even a slip of one meant a sound paddling. Was that wrong? no.

SOME things are meant for adults, some aren't. If you can't tell the difference...
