Cubs fan offered Asylum in Florida
A police guard was posted outside the suburban Northbrook home where he lives with his parents...
Angry broadcasters castigated him. A local newspaper found in a Web poll that thousands of people blamed him for playing a role in the Cubs' loss. Even the governor weighed in... In Florida, Gov. Jeb Bush said an offer of asylum to Bartman might be a good idea, and an oceanfront retreat in Pompano Beach offered him a free three-month stay if he needed to get out of Chicago. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html :1orglaugh Poor bastard |

The Cubs lost the series. The fan did not cause it. I feel for the poor guy. |

A recent poll showed that 54% of the people thought the Cubs would lose anyway. I was rooting for them, too bad they didn't make it :(
|
All I have to say is.. they were up 3 - 1 all they had to do was win ONE fucking game.. and they blame it on THAT guy.. w/e
The players are to blame.. CHOKE!!!!! Go Marlins! |

Bull... one of ARod's best friends is the cubs shortstop.. and I know for a fact that ARod wants to play for Miami.... But you can not blame him for taking $25 mill a year over 3 or 5 that Fla might have been able to offer him. |
26 years old and he still lives with his parents??

All I know is the luckiest guy in Chicago right now is Gonzo... if that fly ball was two rows further back, people would be talking about the ball he booted. Leon meet Alex. Alex, Leon. |

Second, I agree with the point on the guy. I just emailed him and offered to help in any way I can. Gonzo is the one that should have police outside his house... |

The Cubs should have NEVER made it...am I the only one who remembers the corked bat?!?
|

If you think that was the ONLY cheating that went on all year. How many bunters steped on home plate? How many batters didn't line up in the batters box? How many pitchers got away with scuffing a ball? Sosa got what he deserved... when will anyone else? |
3 game suspension and a fine isn't justice for Sosa. I would say it if any other player got caught cheating and had a chance in the World Series. Thanks for calling me an idiot, I bet I know more about sports than you. Dickhead.
|
Any wannabe sports fan would know the suspension wasn't 3 games, but rather reduced to 7.
Care to talk anymore? |
Yep, I made a mistake, 7 games. I'll still talk...I'm no where a wannabe sportsfan.
|

You've said the Cubs should be this far due to a corked bat in May/June? Please. Probably one of the 44,000 fairweather marlins fans. LOL |
I'm not a Marlins fan by any means. I've watched the entire series as I love the game of baseball. I'm a die hard Yankees fan actually....
Sosa is a homerun hitter and the Cubs depend on his batting, and it was corked...yes, the Cubs got to that point due to cheating! |

Maybe it has something to do with the Cubs beating some Yankee ass earlier in the season. Let's go baseball -- hit me with your abundance of knowledge.... LOL |
What do you want to know about baseball? You ask me...I'll answer.
|
8-3 loss? they're reachin, eh?
|
What do you do as a manager after your team loses to the Red Sox?
|
First if that were to happen I would assess my weaknesses...which with the Yankees happens to be their middle relievers. They need stronger pitching when Clemens and Pettite are done.
|
So you wouldn't address the starting pitching?
Isn't Rodger hanging the spikes up? Wells? Please. I'll give you 'Pettite'. :winkwink: Anyone else on the staff a free agent? :1orglaugh |
I would say for a GIRL she knows her shit.
