The smokinggun.com, which normally touts wacky court documents pertaining to slimebags like Joey Buttafuoco, ran the guy's name.

I'll admit, the story might warrant some information about the guy: Cubs supporter? Marlins mole?

But this is no criminal. Did the site need to run his name? It reveals nothing, aside from a target for beer-fueled psychos anxious to vent their angst.

The Chicago-Sun Times went further, printing the guy's workplace. It even listed the Little League team he coaches.

And like G-men swarming John Dillinger at the Biograph Theater, the media surrounded the poor mope's home. Not just Chicago media. "Inside Edition" parked a truck outside - what, was J. Lo on the scene?

Why don't these idiots descend upon the home of pitcher Mark Prior and badger him about cracking under pressure and blowing the game?

Cubs fans and sportscasters have given Prior a pass. People aren't perfect. Can't the fan in the turtleneck get the same empathy?

I hope that as you read this, the day after the fateful seventh game, that the Cubs won. Otherwise, Mr. Turtleneck is going to get run out of town.

Then again, considering the company he has to keep among Cubs fans and reporters in Chicago, maybe that's a blessing."

I can't believe all this shit. My uncle a huge baseball fan, more than me, has been telling me all about this shit! It's bullshit.

I can't believe all the fans think that this, one, single fan costed the Cubs from getting the world series. Bullshit, the team cost themselves it. Maybe they need to train better!
