I forget the right word but it means you were asked to leave and you have no ties to their church. They are NOT allowed to talk to anyone that has been asked to leave the church....forget that damn word. "Dis-associated"?? Nope....forgot the freaking word.

Remind them they are not allowed to talk to you because you have been disassociated...or whatever that word is...

No actually that is *NOT* how it works.. take it from someone who spent 16 years listening to their drivel. The people of the 144,000 that they believe are going to heavan are since the time of jesus, and they believe there's like 1000 or something left. When the last one dies, armageddon comes and destroys the wicked. Then the people left over get to live on a paradise earth. Yippie.

They disfellowshipped me for "loose conduct". I got kicked out of the house and slept on a boy's couch. Whoopdie fucking do. The REAL reason is because the head elder's daughter was a slut, I wasn't, and everyone knew it. I was making him look bad.

Naw, they're too busy prostelatizing to each other and patting each other on the back. Oh, and don't forget indoctrinating the children and reinforcing their own little delusions .

Had 2 little old ladies come to my house one time.. just said "We don't allow god into this household" and they never came back :)

Oh they LOVE having educated kids.. Don't you know, they use their kids to get converts at the schools. They make sure their kids don't participate in any activities they consider "worldly", and that way they make themselves stand out in a crowd and look like martyrs. It's an elegant system really, until you start listening to what they say..then it's just appauling.

I always preferred the method my friend uses. Go to the door in a torn pair of old boxers, an Anal Blast t-shirt (Death Metal band), and carrying an empty bottle of Jack Daniels. They took one look at his hungover face and ran for the hills!

That's wierd, they booted me for basicly the same reason, only I was planning on sharing an apartment with a PLUTONIC friend of mine long-term. Nothing going on, just sharing an apartment. Never moved in either, my parents went through my adress book, called my friend and told her I had "mental problems."

The disfellowshipping stuck, and I never tried going back.

Hey, Lady, do you ever think of going back? I don't, but every once in a while I get this wierd panic attack over death and stuff, like they are right or something (19 years in there from birth, never knew anything else).

the local ones here vehemently DISCOURAGE any education past year 10.. which i guess is senior high - you won't find a jw in the final two years of highschool around here. Thats when they really start learning higher end science and whatnot, the sort of thing that cures them of their ignorance and ergo their religion.

once you've been indoctrinated from a young age you can never entirely get rid of it. it gets hard wired into you.

To a certain extent. I really don't find any of the tendancies in me anymore.. although for a while after I got the big boot I did.

hehe.. i understand.. i was raised catholic. believed up until junior high. you can't undo 15 years of church. you can claw back 99% but there will always be that nagging 1% that no amount of logic knowledge and belief will rid you of.. I was got at too young. the indoctrination started while my brain was forming. We had no chance.

That's another thing. 3 times a week meetings is insane.

I seriously can't think of any well-adjusted kids who grew up that way. All the ones I know are dissassociated, disfellowshipped, or clinicly depressed.

reminds me of a funny story... One day when i was like 16 years old, i was out front of my house in the driveway washing my car while my dad and a couple friends were playing some basketball on my hoop. a couple of these jehovas witness chicks roll up the driveway and ask my dad if she can talk to us. my dads like, "sure, what can i do for you?" They begin to ramble about their deal when my dad stops them and asks them, "Do you save people?" One of the girls was like, "of course". Then he's like, "Do you save hookers?" Again, the same girl goes, "well.... sure we do". Then I shit you not, he then asks the girls, "Will you save me a couple for friday night?". My friends and I were busting up and the one chick was pissed, while the girl behind her sort of cracked a smirk. It was hilarious.
