We had both groups pester us here for about the first 4 yrs we lived here. Finally the old man said thats enough and answered the door with a pump shotgun, pumped it and said whatchallwan'? They walk right on by now.

Sheesh sometimes the JA's would come by weekly. Argh!

But the Mormans are required to do that and is part of their training (1 yr away from home in a different city) So don't be so hard on them. Heck, they're kids and just doing what the church wants. But if they're persistant, run them off! (They HATE Catholics lol) [hint]

Not necessarily, the elders (equivalent to a catholic reverend) are supposed to be required to do a one-year visit on ya if you are disfellowshiped. I have never gotten one, but I moved and never checked in to the local congregation.

They aren't REQUIRED, per se, but they are STRONGLY encouraged to.

Yeah.. they do look-ups on you, because if one is interested, they can be "Reinstated". However, I just tell them I'm Wiccan and they turn tail and run. Apparently wiccan = satanic human sacrifices to them, and they don't bother to come back. :P
