falling asleep techniques

it's almost 6am, had to be up for 9am for a meeting, but looks like im not showing up, i've always had trouble falling asleep, but lately it's getting worse, i can't keep my mind off things, mostly bad stuff that's happened to me all my life, and the more i try not to think about it, the more stuff I keep remembering, anyone got some techniques to help fall asleep? smoking is not an option right now....

quiet 07-02-2003 02:46 AM

try lying on your couch and watchin some infomercials. it sometimes helps...

Would that be the one with Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley?:Graucho

Why are you creating another post about this, when quiet has already posted a related topic just several minutes ago? Can you not come up with your own material?

I haven't seen it:mad:

GeXus 07-02-2003 02:47 AM

BTW, to answer your question, try masterbating or taking some simply sleep

Dopy 07-02-2003 02:47 AM

Damian_Maxcash 07-02-2003 02:48 AM

From experiance I would seriously consider a session with the shrink. A lot of what you are describing can be caused by depression. Sometimes you dont even feel depressed, it just shows as these set of symptoms.

Of course a good wank can help :Graucho

SomeCreep 07-02-2003 02:49 AM

hmm...sometimes I hit "sleep" on my radio, and that plays music for an hour.

Meditating works also, if you know how.

I say just stay up until you feel sleepy. If you find you're getting sleepy right around the time you'd normally wake up, then just stay up and go to bed the next night.

thekebie 07-02-2003 02:49 AM

Stop using the computer like an hour or two before you want to go to bed and then read or something.

After 20 years of "pulling myself together" and "getting over it" I went to a shrink. I was put on medicaction and can honestly say I have never felt better, litterally like a new person.

If I had done it earlier rather than listening to people like you I wouldnt have wasted all those years. :2 cents:

Well thats good, I guess your right, some people who have no will power need to see a shrink, on the other hand.. those who do have will power, will know what the shrink will say, because they all say the same thing for every situation

Alot of people have been mentioning I've looked a lil down lately, alot of shit happend in my life near the end of the year, and it's getting worse, and at night when theres no noise, that's when I think of it the most, and then i get anxiety, wich i don't take any meds for, and I don't want to

Well... that's good that you feel like a new person and have never felt better. You make me want to go to a shrink even.

HOWEVER...

wtf is this new, happy, never-felt-better person doing up in the wee hours of the night eh? :winkwink:

Ok ok I figured it could be something like that... :)

So what brain altering drugs are you on then?

And when do you plan on going to sleep?

When did you go to sleep yesterday?

asuna 07-02-2003 03:04 AM

http://web-us.com/luciddreamingFAQ.htm
i"m reading all of this before trying to get some sleep, someone told me it'll help if i read it everytime I try to go to sleep, to more or less memorize it, it'll also help lucid dreaming

One thing that really was working for me for awhile... and is about to again as soon as I quit refreshing GFY is listening to books on cd/mp3 while laying in bed trying to sleep.

I usually listen to them on my notebook.

Man fuuuck all that. I don't want to take 4 drugs in order to turn my life around and be able to go to sleep.

I bet some (if not all) of those drugs they want you to take for life too.

You don't see anything fishy about that? :)

goBigtime 07-02-2003 03:12 AM

but back to asuna.....

HEART ATTACK @ 22? You had one?

Or you are just predicting one because of all your pent up anger?

Short happy life or long miserable one?

Guess it depends on your priorities..........

Anyway...... see you later..... Im off for a really long, deep and happy sleep

footsex 07-02-2003 03:13 AM

Just do what I do, wait for the sun to come up and then its way to hot to do shit, and thats the perfect time to go to sleep.
