Made turkey dinner tonight, nothing too special, but I didn't eat the turkey... I had subway... steak and cheese sub, everything, mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, the BBQ sauce put on BEFORE toasting, of course. :1orglaugh:thumbsup

As soon as the fam had the turkey dinner I made, they each had under 60 minutes until lights out. Turkey + turkey gravy, stuffing, cranberry, yam, bean and mushroom casserole with corn bread side... 30 minutes into dinner both of them looked sleepier than Rip Van Winkle!

Since my retarded self didn't eat any turkey, choosing to have a big-boobed butter chicken babe Indian woman craft me a fine sub, I got to witness the stages of family guy dinner:

1. "we're hungry, hurry up!"
2. I serve the plates
3. 10 minutes of near-silence
4. both made it to pumpkin pie slice + whipped cream
5. neither finished, both totally turkey-tapped!

Turkey is like the lit match to the perfect holiday early slumber.... every year I skip the turkey and feed other people, after dinner the turkey knocks people on their ass 90% of the time. Maybe 1/10 people manage to not doze off after a turkey dinner. Literally the only special thing I do with the turkey is the bacon-wrap before it goes in the oven, a couple of pineapple rounds, a few herbs and spices... and every year the turkey makes everyone sooooo tired!

When you start to do your research, the snowbird lifestyle... if you can afford it... is the best. Imagine being able to split your time between a few different properties and enjoy the best weather, seasonal, and cultural events as you travel between homes. Incredible! Why did nobody teach me about becoming a snowbird when I was 22 and making 20k a month?
