Ok, just watched a special on HBO about satanists. The FBI has a task force to track down and procecute all satanist groups. Where is their religious freedom?

Not saying I believe all that shit... but shouldn't they have the same religious freedom as the Christians, Mormans, Jews, Catholics...etc?

How are those three things related? Some of us can believe in God, not hound other people with our beliefs <B>and</B> dislike Bush. In fact, most people who believe in a God or a Creator or some form of supreme being are happy to go about their business unconcerned with what others think.

As for "prosecuting" Satanists, post more information next time. If they are breaking the law or endangering unwiling individuals, they deserve to be punished. I've never heard of some random dude being busted down on the streets and locked up for being a Satanist.

When the US was founded, the only religious options people really thought about were different Xian denominations. The Quakers were cool, the Lutherans were cool, the Catholics were cool. All side by side.

The amazing thing is that many people haven't progressed much past that point. People think it's okay to be any kind of Christian, or even Jewish, Muslim, or maybe Hindu or Buddhist... but if it falls into the "Other" category on the questionnaire, nobody gives a fuck about your religious freedoms.

I would like to see a building with a penticle for a change instead of all these churches with crosses. Common, Wicca is a religion and has nothing to do with satan yet still not accepted because of the mainstream religious leaders misconception of the belief.

I did read the thread. All seven posts of it up until where I replied. There is still no relation between Holy Rollers, fans of Bush and people who believe in God. They are three seperate things. Just because some fans of Bush are holy rollers doesn't make them one thing. Did you ever take an IQ test? What does people getting nailed to the cross have to do with anything? Are you saying that if a Crhistian in America nailed someone to a cross, they would get away with it while a Satanist will go to jail merely for breathing? Get real. Incidentally, the cross was in common use LONG before the Christians came on the scene.

At some point in history, all the currently established religions started with a very small group of followers. Once they gained enough followers, they became established and accepted as a religion.

Christianity didn't always have 1 billion followers, there was a time when it was just a bunch of dudes fucking around in the desert. At the time, I'm sure there was plenty of people that thought that Christianity was a pretty crazy idea, especially the Romans, but over time Christians were able to brainwash enough people to gain followers and the numbers grew and grew. Eventually a following gains that critical mass of believers and it becomes accepted in society as a legitimate religion.

So anyways, my point is that I look at religions like christianity or islam as just a socially acceptable cult. They began as a cult, and they're still a cult today, but they're accepted because there are enough people that are believers, and of course 1 billion sheeple can't be wrong.

Ok, since you read all the posts... then you will see where I made the comment that bush looks like Damian Thorn... that is where bush fits into this.

Hmmm, according to the special/documentry.. satanists perform human sacrifice, therefore, they have the task force.

A family in San Diego had their childern taken from them after a sister told her therapist that her brother/sister was going to kill thier son on or before his birthday. Without research, the cops took the children from them at 2 am on a sunday morning.

aftrer 16 weeks or so, charges were dropped and this family was stuch paying for Foster care, medical treatment and something else... cannot remember now... How fair is that?

People are stupid when it comes to matters that they do not understand, and instead of learning what something is all about, they try to destroy it.

All kinds of accusations get thrown around when people have an agenda. One favorite is the mother accusing the father of molestation.

My own father who is Christian had his religious beliefs held against him when my mother went after custody of my younger brother.

My dad had to go to court ordered psychiatric counseling because he was a Christian.

Things got real cooky. My brother being only 12 and a goofball as well as a big fan of the DaDa movement invented a language for him and his friends to communicate.

I've heard the phone conversations my mother taped (brother secretly stole them) where she told the court appointed psychiatrist "my son scares me, I think he's speaking in tongues or something."

My mother won custody in the beginning when it went in front of the masters (stupid court system in Texas) but when it got into the real judges chambers my brother was returned to my father that very night.

But the whole thing took well over a year before it was all settled.

Anyway to get back to your post, you cannot be prosecuted for simply being a satanist. However if you're a satanist who intends upon committing or has committed crimes then that's another story.

Investigating satanists is another thing. Nothing stops the government from investigating anyone, some white supremacist groups or militias are religious in nature (according to them) and get investigated all the time.
