Whats a good replacement for Paypal?

your thoughts ....

KRL 05-16-2003 09:52 AM

Stormpay is one to consider. And there have been some others mentioned.

E-Gold is another one.
Yahoo has an e-mail transaction system.
Or e-mail KimmyKim for ePassporte.

d0se 05-16-2003 09:53 AM

epassporte maybe..

nuclei 05-16-2003 09:55 AM

epassporte looks like the winner to me so far

Master_Yoba 05-16-2003 10:07 AM

I think StormPay for now

Rich 05-16-2003 10:22 AM

https://www.neteller.com/
http://www.citadelcommerce.com/
http://www.firepay.com/
http://www.ecocard.com/
http://www.e-gold.com/

I use of all these services, and they're all good. I'd never use paypal.

Rich 05-16-2003 10:23 AM

Of coarse, I don't think I've ever heard any of those mentioned here, so maybe they don't take adult. They do all my casino banking.

asuna 05-16-2003 10:25 AM

Why don't people use the search feature on GFY?

JamesK 05-16-2003 10:34 AM

epassporte

CashGordon 05-16-2003 12:51 PM

I believe epassporte we will offer epassporte payment option soon at our sites.

AdultNex 05-16-2003 01:14 PM

Another one for Stormpay.com.

I haven't had any problems with them, and I've been with them for at least 4 months.

tony286 05-16-2003 01:29 PM

Epassporte is scary, they want a guarantee (if they are collecting the fees for my site they should have the money for their fees)and they want your bank info(the answer I got on this one ,we want it because in the future we maybe adding a function. Why cant you ask for it when you have the function instead of my bank info sitting god knows where). It makes me nervous to give a offshore company my bank info, remember if they can put money in they can take money out. Also bothers me that no body can give a straight answer who owns it, this some of the owners of epoch maybe also be owners of epassporte but I dont know. Thats very weird. Most people are proud of what they own a part of , everybody is being vague. Be careful people, Kimmy and Chris seem like nice people but it makes me nervous.

harvey 05-16-2003 01:52 PM

Stormpay. Period.

I contacted epassporte and I got only an automated reply and since then, anything... maybe they're too busy to take care of my business, but it makes me think what would happen if I need something fast? On the other hand, Stormpay is exactly the same as Paypal (well, better since it handles all transactions, all countries and has shopping carts) without the hassle. So be smart and while you are at it, click this nice STORMPAY LINK :thumbsup

hmm, this was the perfect thread for me right now.

one question - does stormpay/alternatives have easy to use automated methods for setting up recurring payments, and notifications of those payments? i *just* got a paypal IPN thing setup and now i have to worry that the sites i coded it for might be kicked from paypal.. i suppose i can look myself but reading the stuff on a site vs. someone actually trying to use it can be much different :)

mike503 05-16-2003 02:19 PM

StormPay.com
Copthall, PO Box 2331
Roseau, Common Wealth of Dominica
West Indies

heh.

:warning interesting?

YES, StormPay has recurring subscriptions. Everything is easy as pie. The Virtual Money, Inc. staff are great to work with also and they handle the GlobalPay ATM card for transferring funds from your StormPay sales to your ATM card.

Glad to see I am not the only one. I never got a straight answer but being as how Epoch is promoting them and helping they are involved somehow.

Just get a Merchant account with Netbilling and you won't need to worry about who can process your shit.

mike503 05-16-2003 02:35 PM

There is a $2 fee associated with doing Bank Account Transfers.

hmm - the people i would be referring to this service might not like that.

are there any with paypal's fee structure? where bank transfers don't cost anything?

I don't know, I think that's pretty reasonable compared with ATM fees.

yeah but ATM fees you have a choice if you want to be charged or not. just go to your own bank and you don't get dinged..

it looks like netbilling has a $199 setup fee and $25 per month... i guess i won't be using them right now (especially since i have many small people doing their own payment crap, it's not all my own stuff.)

You might as well get used to doing international business, because that's were everything is going to HAVE to be at the rate things are tightening up in the US.

Everything is going offshore.

yeah it's just a little nerveracking. everyone's doing it but at the same time how do you pick the good from the bad when they all look shady? they're dodging the lamer laws of the US but at the same time making it really easy to take the money and run..

tony286 05-16-2003 06:51 PM

I think your right offshore is the future, europe I would feel comfortable but west indies, russia, anywhere in south america and some island in the middle of nowhere. Bank charters are a joke to get in those places and fraud is the norm for the most part.

Can I tell you a secret Mike, I've been in Porn since 1984 and I've gotten fucked far more times by companies based in the US than any companies outside the US. In fact I can only think of 1 company that was outside the US that fucked me.

99% of the scammers are all here inside the US not offshore. :1orglaugh

well, until now all companies that screwed me onmoney, that's a plain 100%, were from US. Not even one from (say) Russia or Israel, supposed to be the worse scammers in the world (I had hacking, hitbooting and that kind of stuff, though). Maybe it's because I'd never signup to a Russian company, but I dealt with many people from all over the world, and the only ones with trouble to get money from are from US. Go figure :feels-hot In short, Mike503, maybe you'd run away from any US based company. Question is: would you? :Graucho

harvey 05-16-2003 07:35 PM

even more, go to http://www.thehun.net/webmaster/ and check the scammers list: 4 from US, 1 from Poland, 1 from Canada, 1 from Sri Lanka and 1 from Dominican Republic. Of course the last one is from US, too. Proofs? Go to http://www.directnic.com/whois/index...=ebconsult.net and you'll see that's a Dominican Republic based firm. Now check the mail of the organization World Resort Corportation and the e-mail [email protected]. Now, since I'm such an smart ass, let's do a whois on wwresort.com and... bingo! here we've something more logical:

again, another US based firm but different address for the 4th time in a row. (btw, that Anthony Economou name looks very familiar to me, cannot remember who is he)

So, this is just to show you that no matter where the company has its records, not even the oh so clean US webmasters, they won't give you a minimum safety at all. Most of the times, you'll end screwed anyway :glugglug
