“Where’s Mah Fookin’ Kid”
Spent nearly nine hours in the ER today and it was pretty quiet. Right as the ambulance guys came in to take me home, this woman starts screaming “where’s mah fookin’ kid?” with a slight Jamaican accent. Screaming over and over “I’m not fookin’ drunk!” and asking for her kid.
Ten minutes of yelling and she takes a breath. Male voice calmly says, “yer fuckin’ kid left to get away from his fuckin’ drunk mom.” Silence, then all you heard was laughing and giggling. I couldn’t stop laughing myself because he said it so calmly. The guy was just a patient having a heart attack but instead of getting upset, he was calm, cool and funny. The meds they gave the loudmouth put her to sleep fast so no noise as I left. The EMT driver did crank Pantera and Nickelback without being asked and that was fun. Third ER visit in three weeks. I’m a regular now! |

Why you in the ER so much?

I honestly have never heard of someone getting an ambulance ride HOME.

That woman last night was funny yet scary. So quiet all day and then boom. I didn’t ask about her as I just wanted to leave. The worst part was wanting water but being told no until a ct scan was done. Today I’m making up for it! |
So... you have an ambulance that takes you to urgent care? Then takes you back home after? And your urgent care treats gunshot victims?
That's wild. Where you live? What that bill look like? |

Your opinion means nothing to me so if you were not trying to update me, you failed big time. I laugh at cretins like you. No life but to pick on others. Sad life. I pity you. |

I needed to be monitored while going home. This wasn’t for a splinter or bruised knee. For normal issues with health, I go to a doctor. |

The ambulance service is out of Fall River as that’s the city next door. I can go to either of two hospitals there or another I chose as it’s more familiar to me. The cost is paid for by my health insurance provider. I’ve got good coverage but I believe that a sprain or splinter is not considered an emergency. They did another CT scan and ultrasound and I said to check the films from last week to save money. They wouldn’t and I told them that’s why rates are so high. They are in business to make money. They have walk-in clinics around here but due to past experience I refuse to consider it. Urgent Care is another name for the ER. They treat all from splinters to gunshot wounds. You try to never go on the weekend because of drunk accidents and such. I had no choice. If you’re not ambulatory, you don’t have much choice. I’m told I paid $1,600 to transport me via ambulance from a rehab hospital to the nursing home (10 miles or so) twelve years ago. It’s the liability of transporting a very sick person I guess. I had no health insurance at the time. You live and learn. |

If I were going to make up a story, I’d do better than a Jamaican woman yelling about her fookin’ kid. 🐥 |
