The Democrats passed up a bill to fund the budget AND included additional money for border security - where it was needed. Democrats did this thirty days ago. It was the Republican party who was "proud" to shut down the government for a campaign promise that was never needed.

Schumer didn't shut the govt down, Trump did by failing to sign 2 different budgets Republicans approved in the Senate and then later refusing to be a leader and tell Republicans in the Senate to vote on the 4 different bills the House passed.

I have a better idea. Let's spend that .008 percent of the budget on something that matters... Such as raises for teaches, police officers, and firemen, and feeding our vets.

With an additional 500 miles of wall we'll need another 20,000 border agents and increase the spending to $8 Billion a year.

We'll need to build more facilities for the border agents as well. How many billions I'd that?

What we really need to do is properly fund the Border Patrol. The biggest problem we have right now is no one wants to work for the Border Patrol. It's a crappy job. We need to pay Border Patrol agents A LOT more. No one wants to move to a little desert town in the middle of no where. Not only do we need to pay them more, we need to build small towns where they can live - sort of like military bases.

I mean... If we can build tent cities to lock up kids... Why can't we build something for Border Patrol agents?
