I tried watching this yesterday and just gave up. I kept getting sent back and forced to make choices. Then it replayed scenes that I already saw. After the fifth or sixth time doing that....zzzzzz

Was looking forward to this movie, and maybe I'll try and give it another chance, but initially.... zzzzzzz.

:(

I don't understand how this works. Do you have to rewind and fast forward the entire time through the movie?

bronco67 12-29-2018 08:55 AM

I didn't think it would be like a game. It should send you through all the way to an ending no matter which choice you make, otherwise it's going to get tedious.

Well supposedly (as I understand it) you get to points when you make choices using your remote control. The choice you make is then streamed seamlessly. Should you not make a choice, it chooses for you. There are a lot of different outcomes and different ways to get to the conclusion (A Conclusion) of the movie.

Apparently the total hours of poossible viewable content filmed was about 13 hours. A personal trip through the movie should last about 1 hour 30 mins making choices, but if you specifically set out to do so, and you already knew all the correct choices, you can get from start to finish in about 45 mins

I think the fun is supposed to be in watching it again and making different choices and seeing hitherto unseen footage and new options become available as choices...

But like I said, I genuinely don't have a netflix account and have not seen it (pirated or otherwise) All the info I know about it has been gleaned from the web, hence this post to see if anyone here has seen it and was it any good?

I also know that on older devices (Like my smart TV) it probably won't work properly anyway...

In my case I have Amazon Firestick. Choices pop up at the bottom of the screen and you select. It is seemless.

Very interesting. I'll try and get some time to watch it this weekend and see what happens.

For curiosities sake I opened Netflix on the computer and it seems to be the same sort of thing there as well. There is no option to fast forward or skip ahead throughout the film. It appears the buttons appear universally.

Thank you but no.

That scene was crazy... loved the song by Tangerine Dream they used there. It's from the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies of all time: Risky Business.

Yes! yes yes!!!

DigitalPimpNetwork 12-29-2018 08:43 PM

Hell yes, it was awesome, can't wait for what similar things come out on Netflix next

SilentKnight 12-29-2018 09:37 PM

I liked how they featured the robot dog from another Black Mirror episode as a video game. Cool little easter egg.

AdultKing 12-29-2018 09:41 PM

Watched it after seeing this thread, was ok but I prefer just to sit back and be taken on a journey when I watch Netflix, if I want interactive I'll switch on the PS2 or XBox.

I won't be rushing to watch one of these 'interactive' streaming videos again.

I thought that you could watch it passively and not make choices too? ie if you don't choose the movie chooses for you and ts just like a normal movie?
