You can actually download and play one of the games from the film...
"Nohzdyve" CLICK HERE You will of course need a spectrum emulator to run it, but those with retropie already have one to hand :) |

I don't like the end "Stefan dies"...

Someone from here (Who wants to remain anonymous) has said they are gonna send me a user/pass as a new years present :)
So, hopefully, I might get to see it tomorrow :) |

Well, my new GFY bestest pal came through and sent me a user and pass for netflix...
I fired up my 2016 4K LG smart TV, loaded netflix, sat back and unzipped and pressed play. Instead of bandersnatch, I got a 'Sorry - Your device is a piece of shit and cunt play Bandersnatch - Tough shit' notice...(Or words to that effect) :( OK, so Bladewire talks about watching it on a firestick, so I got my 2017 firestick out, dusted it off, loaded netflix, sat back and unzipped and pressed play. Instead of bandersnatch, I got a 'Sorry - Your device is a piece of shit and cunt play Bandersnatch - Tough shit' notice... :( Third times the charm I thought as I got my minix U1 running android 5.1 out of storage and plugged that into my TV... I loaded netflix, sat back and unzipped and pressed play. Instead of bandersnatch, I got a 'Sorry - Your device is a piece of shit and cunt play Bandersnatch - Tough shit' notice... :( So thats me out of options bar sitting and watching it at my computer. Not really the sit back and watch on a huge screen I wanted, but I'll do it at some point I expect... But heres the real issue... Why did it just keep saying sorry and NOT OFFER ME an 'UN-interactive' version? Why couldn't I have just watched it like anyone else would have, if the didn't make choices? Would have been better to have at least seen something of it, than just sorry sorry sorry for devices that are not that old and were high end when bought a few years ago? I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH YOU NETFLIX ! IT'S THE LAST TIME I'LL BOTHER TO GET SOMEONE TO SEND ME A PASSWORD SO I CAN WATCH FOR FREE! YOU HAVE LOST A VIEWER !!! |

I've watched/played it a few times. Not too sure if I like it. Although I like seeing new ideas. Personally I think I was too lazy to keep sitting up and having to choose.

Well I got there in the end by watching it on the computer and I have to say it was fairly good.
Funniest thing about it though, was seeing Jeff Minter as the original programmer who killed his wife. This surprised me because I've actually met him on a good few occasions at some retro arcade events I used to attend when I was in the pinball league for Devon, and seeing the guy you've sat and had a beer with multiple times popping up was kinda freaky ! I checked out some youtube videos later to see if I had missed anything major, and aside from a couple of Jeff's appearances, I had only really missed the fight in the shrinks office and the chance of killing colin later in my bedroom, but to me, (In My Timeline) colin was already dead. OVERALL VERDICT : Good bit of fun once I finally was able to watch it ! |

I like the line where the guy says he changed the game to give the viewer the sense of control, because that is exactly what happens.
It pretty much guides you to the ending they want (based on playing around a few hours) |

I'm only about 30 minutes in, but I went in with the idea of trying to make the worst choices possible just to see what would happen. In one path I took, I had my mind blown by....SPOILERS BELOW
v v v v v v v v v v v v He discovers that he's being controlled by someone in the future using this thing called Netflix(which would be me) and it devolves into a mindless action movie with crazy fight scenes. Of course that path led nowhere but it was fun. Some of the choices seem innocuous, like which song to play or which cereal to eat -- but it's all in the spirit of how those games operated. And sometimes, those seemingly tiny choices can have a big impact later on. Aside from the seamless interactive editing, it's also a well shot, well acted film. I like it so far and can't wait to smoke up tonight and dive back in. |

Fukin Brilliant Netflix!!! Bravo!!! The most original take on any media thus far. Pac man dies a lot, doesn't seem to care:thumbsup
