Does color and font matter?

has anyone found a color/font that works best or worst?

I found green links on black to be the WORST color for my traffic. DO your ratios change with the link/background colors as much as mine did?

ok....so i was bored...

I would say your on to somthing.

Color is single handedly the most emotional provoking nervous stimuli next to symetry.

RED is the most clickable color!

In a test, I conducted back when I was in school (over about a 6 month period) I found out that the regular blue text links get clicked 20% more then any other link colour. I concluded therefore that blue one white background is the most clicked option.

Another test I did was to add 2 flash banners on a store front to replace the gif banners, sales dropped 15% over 3 months after that, when we put up the gif banners sales climbed again 14%. I am not sure why 2 flash banners of the same size as the gif banner would do such a thing? but I am certain it made the change.

We were just playing but hey, who knows, I passed the class with 98%.

I don't know if it's my monitor or what, but that color red on this grey BG is hard on the eyes.

Personally, I hate clicking on flash banners as I don't know where I'm going to be taken.

agreed, and when I get some popup to install a plugin.. I usually close that window...

I think blue is the most clicked because it's the browser default. Browsers associate the bright blue color->links.
