Phoenix Forum Party Damages
 

Ok, I just got the bill from the La Posada Resort for my party suite at the Phoenix Forum in the mail.

They added $2500 for "excessive damage" including

- cigarette-burned and drink-stained carpets
- burned and stained ottoman
- broken mirrors, pictures, and damage to the walls

The letter states "overall, the room was simply trashed"

That shit always happens, no matter what you do... I seem to recall Python getting a bill from the Venetian for 26k for carpet once... and Rob getting kicked out of the Venetian over the same party lol...

I think it's more along the lines of the hotels realizing they have us by the nuts and we can afford to pay for new furnishings for them...

tho that time at the Venetian there was a strawberry margarita machine involved if I recall correctly, not really that much a webmaster issue as a bad choice in bartending ;)

that red dye does not mix with anything easily...

So they didn't say anything about the maid who got gang banged but didn't get paid?

Interestingly enough I dont think anyone wants to go back... the pool rocked there but that was about it. The rooms sucked, the room service sucked, the food in the lounge was not too good either, and of course no high speed net access...

a 2500 damage bill for Lightspeed, paid and done with, doesn't have anything to do with coming back, hell the hotels love that shit, they get new fixtures on someone else's dime instead of having to pay for it from normal wear and tear.

Now the damage that was done to a different room is another story. Of course the perpetrators must have been high on a vast concoction of drugs with a heroin base to have done something so stupid and low class. Disappointing really.

....and it never fails at EVERY show I get asked "What ever happened to the NationalNet Hospitality Suite?". There's the answer.

I also warned Aly and Dave from Python and Jack and Rob from Babenet.....but they didn't listen (we laugh about it now :). Our largest damage bill was from the Wyndham in Miami and was just under $20k.....but from what I have been told, the award for the most expensive was Dave from PHC's suite atop the Hilton in Las Vegas.

I think you hit the nail on the head with that one. I have been to a lot of these events and seen how poorly people treat what is not their own property.

On the flip side...Kimmykim is also right. I highly doubt there was that much damage to the room.

Of course...None of this can top the dameges to PimpSticky's room in Montreal last year. Poor Platinum Dave had to deal with that mess. :glugglug

I think a lot of the problem is crowd size.
Get too many people in a room, especially drunk people that feel like they are on a ship on the ocean, and shit is bound to get knocked over, stepped on, fallen on, sat on, etc..

I would normally not argue your point EXCEPT as it pertains to the cigarette burns. In our suites we made sure there were ashtrays EVERYWHERE......and I mean EVERYWHERE. We had at least 40 ash trays in the room....most flat surfaces had several ashtrays!! Yet in our last suite there were 164 cigarette holes in the carpet....yes, someone counted and photographed them all.

So....to make your point.....yes, drunk people sometimes fall down and knock things over....and that is understandable when you need a co-signer to buy all of the alcohol....hehehe......but the cigarette holes are just people being sorry, imo.

it's funny that you don't realize the damage is being done at the time -- and it's all the more reason to spend some extra money and just have a party at a venue IF the opportunity is there --

1. I don't smoke, but I'll start if Tony has another suite party.

2. We had 21 rug burns at our suite in Vegas, and they charged us for every one.

3. Next time, I'm gonna pull the carpet, hell I'll pull the furniture first too.

4. Some damage seems malious, it was at our last party and Steve told me about some pretty nasty shit in his.

5. Some drunk guy was yelling at me, so I left.

6. We're having an even bigger GFY warm-up party in Florida, anyone want to go?

I agree on all counts KK. I must add that Insite was involved with us in Miami and help to make it a huge success. To make your point, however, New Orleans was the best.....we had the club atop the Hyatt and it is a venue that is made for drunk people :)

On Sunday morning, when the bellhop came to pick up myself, Laurel and our luggage, he told us that our group was much more fun than any other group that they've had and to come back any time!... guess he jumped the gun on that invitation. :tongue:

He said they usually they get straightedge lawyers, cpas, etc.

It should be on Miami Beach at the convention center. Tha place is massive and all of the BARS and Hotels are within walking distance.


It is great to stumble from bar to bar and then try to find the hotel that you came from.!!

...on the last night's party. 3 nights of non-stop partying, wall to wall people, and 2.5k in damage. Could have been a lot worse. Sucks though. Those party's rocked. :-)

New Orleans was good, tho I thought it was at the Hilton -- but dont you remember they moved you to the club that they didn't use any more since there was a wedding or something in the courtyard and they were deathly afraid of us getting out there with the wedding party... pretty hard to claim you did that much damage in a club setting, especially with Anthony as the point man ;)

MAN I miss those NatNet parties. I agree, the Hilton New Orleans was great with the bar on the top. But the hotel sucked much ass. And so does the Sheraton New Orleans and the Wyndham Bourbon Orleans. Matter of fact, I think pretty much all the hotels in New Orleans suck ass. But what a town!

I was really disappointed to see that some aholes wrote on the table with permanent marker at the Lightspeed suite. Seriously, how the hell does that happen? Some people just don't know how to behave.

The lightspeed parties were fun. I'd say $2500 is getting out easy! At least you didn't need to buy the booze through the hotel. ;)

That much alcohol can run between $15-40K from Vegas hotels.<g>
