Why do everyone in the US have chrome rims? not that they're ugly, but everyone. :)
|
Those are nice!
I like the ones that keep spinning after you've stopped, but I think those are thousands of dollars |
definately will be getting alot of pussy with those wheels

This threat just reminded me how old I am
I get exited about my new deck I am going to build soon LOL My son came over last night and showed me his new rims on his car. (He is 23) I guess priorities change when you get older Good for you, nice rims.. So, now I am going to tell you the same thing I told my son. "Hunny, wouldn't it have been better to put that money away, safe it for a rainy day, or for a house you and your girlfriend want? I think thats a shame you spend your hard earned money on rims. I know, I know, you make good money and you can spend it how you want. But think about your future a little. Yeah those rims are nice hunny, Yeah I love you." Walking away hoping he wakes up one day like I did :1orglaugh |

Hrm... I guess the older crowd here don't know how to bling out their cars-- It's for our generation.
Ok, I'll drop the Icy Stuntaz act. :1orglaugh |

congratulations, you have now lost all off-road and winter capabilities of the H2. someone remind him that's a 4x4 :winkwink: HRE does kick ass... i think i'm going to get a set of those for my camaro, either those or the cadmium-looking c5 wheels with the 17's up front and 18's out back. not sure though, they both would look nice on it. pimp ride? let's keep the 4x4s 4x4s, pimp it for real if you're going to do it. airbag it or drop some pumps in it so it sits 2.5" off the ground, and chop the top 3" so you get the low look. oh yeah, and pull out the transfer case. and no, i'm not "the older crowd", i work with this stuff every damn day. :winkwink: |
Ever since these damn "rent a wheel" places opened up, you see so many pieces of shit driving around with fancy ass rims. It's sickening to see a beat up '70s Monte Carlo with big assed chariot wheels on it that are worth more than the fucking car itself. There's one that I see driving around that I swear I can see the brush strokes in the paint job.

The only thing I am saying is that my kids (23 et al) have different priorities, Your main thing is to let laid, if that means a nice car, rims etc, so be it. When you have the wife, and the kids than your priorities will change also. Bling out their cars, thats cute... And youre right, the only "bling" I have on my car is a XM Stereo. I never had the money to "bling" out anything when I was my kids age. I was a cheap-ass. However I did buy my first house at age 21 (which now is rented (yeah right) to one of my kids. Oh well, i am so behind times :1orglaugh |

know what's really damn dumb? seeing a full-size 70's impala station wagon going down the street on 13" rims that are 4" wider than the tires so the sidwalls have to be stretched 2" on each side. that's just not right, OR safe.:warning |
Rent-a-wheel shops? They actually have those? Ah geez...

Disregard the kitten, I am looking for these wheels.
http://www.student.gsu.edu/~kpentecost1/kitty.jpg Anyone know a good wheel resource online? I found something similar but they wanted to know the offset in millimeters. What the fuck are they talking about? Between 13 and 35. Fuck if I know. And Aaron is right, that shit is ridiculous. We have alot of that in Detroit. Crazy ******s with some beater and big ass 24's. There are 3 things in the hood. Liquor stores, churches, and rent a wheel shops. If muh fuggin mystikal has twentyfo's on his escalade, I better put them on my el Camino. When I see a white kid doing it, I pray to god someone car jacks them and slits their throat. |

dont listen to these people, if you ever nead to go wild, you can have your H2, go in the garage for a afternoon, and get it switched out into offroad mode, then when your done tearing shit up you can switch it back, or you can buy a second hummer, then these guys can kiss your ass, I dont see anyone posting there hummers that rival yours, I dont got a H2, I dont know anyone with a H2 you have all my respect for having this ride |

Labret - the offset is the placement of the center of the wheel with respect to the tire (like the spokes and stuff - where it's centered widthways in the tire). i'll try and find some pictures. "backspacing" is the space between the lug holes or whatever and the _inside_ lip of the rim. you have to move this around to get it to fit on different vehicles. |

Thanks! |
I don't think that is really his. I may be wrong but I think he was subtly making fun of it like everyone else.

I do know people who own them and none of them are dumb enough to do that stupid shit to it. This is a pic of Mike69 and his H2...He has a Viper that is bad ass as well....You don't see him jacking the Viper up and making it usless for the race track now do you? You can have a kick ass ride and still be practical at the same time. http://www.ampcontent.com/pics/Mike69Hummer.jpg |
Labret - ok, this is a really bad picture, but i couldn't find one so i made one in Paint. hope that helps
http://www.iroc409.com/pub/backspacing.jpg :thumbsup |
offset is very similar, but i can't remember if that refers to the front side or backside of the wheel - it's been a while since i've messed with wheels.
too busy playing with motors and stuff :) one of my Car Crafts has a really good article on tires and wheels and stuff. i should find it and scan some stuff, that would explain everything. |

My first set of rims were bbs. Nice chromed 18's. They kept saying how great the rims were, that they were the lightest rim on the market, the chrome would never fade, etc... Until i hit a 1/2 in pot hole and totally destroyed the rim. Yes they might be light weight, but they are weak as shit. I'm on my 3rd pair of rims and just realized that 18 inch low profile wheels in NY do not hold up with all these fucking pot holes. Im moving to florida |
