ibill's Canadian online check memberships toast
effective immediately all Canadian recurring online check memberships are canceled, and Canadian surfers can no longer sign up via online check.
just got a call from ibill, thought i'd share :glugglug |
They give you a reason? I suppose they don't need one, these kind of announcements coming from iBill don't surprise me anymore...

reason given is that they are unable to settle Canadian checks... so any Canadians who are currently recurring this way are lost.
|
In this business we have to make money today like it won't be possible tomorrow.
|
Canadian banks hate them. Canadians hate them. Bomb iBill?
Seriously though, that sucks. |
I've defended iBill alot on this board but its really starting to annoy me that I have to find out about things like this here. With the amount we pay iBill in fees they could well afford a fulltime employee just for dealing with our issues.

Considering that I probably have had maybe 5 Candian check sign ups this is not an issue.
What is an issue is that I did not receive an email about this and have to read it here. There isn't even a message in the CMI about this. |
Hi,
The Canadian ACH market is not very stable. We can surely help with your US ACH processing at rates lower than any other in the industry, and including costomer verfication. Netbilling.com Mitch |

All hate IBILL. To my mind Ibill cheat at online check and some recurring transactions. I worked with Ibill and know about this fact.

Hey Tony,
For our CheckSmart product we do not charge for checks that are returned / unsuccessful (NSF or rejected due to closed bank account etc.) But when the consumer visits their bank and determines the transaction was a non-authorized charge, then the previously successful transaction is classified as a chargeback, with a $15 fee.
