The only thing I get at mcdonalds is value fries no salt. It only costs $1. Maybe I should start tipping them 10 or 15 cents when they tell me to pull up and they'll bring it out to my car.

L-Pink 04-20-2015 12:02 PM

Hell no, they're over paid as it is.

Zuzana Designs 04-20-2015 12:04 PM

When they start getting my order right at least 2 times in a row I may start to tip.

MiamiBoyz 04-20-2015 12:08 PM

Did you just move to America?

Have you ever seen anyone wait in line with the trash that eats at McDonalds and give the cashier a tip?

Tips are for certain services, not for all service people. Nothing to do with being cheap or not.

420 04-20-2015 12:14 PM

I just tipped the gas station cashier. I handed her a $50 and said give me 49 lotto tickets and keep one for yourself.

CDSmith 04-20-2015 12:16 PM

NO McTipping!

Their commercials back in the 70's and 80's often included a quick scene of an employee picking up change off a table and rather cheerfully handing it back to customers saying "there's no tipping at McDonalds."

I never forgot that.

That Dimethylpolysiloxane is pretty damn tasty.

I don't eat at McDonald's. I can't remember the last time I've had McDonald's. I had Taco Bell a few weeks ago, but only because it was a grand opening and we were having an event there.

I've never been to Chipotle. Ever.

I am on a diet and don't eat out often.

In a real restaurant I tend to be a healthy tipper.

I gotta go back. I won 2 free tickets! Sweet, free two dollars. I'll ask her to split it with me if she won the millions.

Adraco 04-20-2015 01:22 PM

See the old McDonalds ad here
Is 1976 McDonald's Ad About "Dinnertimin'" Racist?
It clearly says no tipping, so that's how we do it!

InfoGuy 04-20-2015 01:27 PM

Don't tip the fat cows who graze at McDonald's.

This is why I love living in a place where a politician tipping in a fast food restaurant is NOT considered a "current event" :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Plus 1.

I do, however, tip taxi drivers on the MYTaxi app here in Malaysia and because of that I always get a cab, even in the rain. I've been told by many drivers that I'm known as the "pizza guy who tips." Ive certainly been called worse.

As far as the States, tip in McDonald's? No way. But I do tip at places like neighborhood delis, where an individual is making my sandwich for me - as opposed to the mass-produced glop from McDonalds.

A find that a tip in places where I'm known gets me (usually) great service and great food - noticeably better than if I didn't tip.

kane 04-20-2015 08:13 PM

I rarely go to McDonald's and if I do it is usually through the drive thru. It would not occur to me to tip. However, in fairness of full disclosure, there is a small mom and pop Mexican place I go to at least twice a month. They only have two tables so I always get the food to go and I tip every time.

Horatio Caine 04-20-2015 08:27 PM

I drop my change into donation bucket for orphans bucket but never tried to tip their employees.

RyuLion 04-20-2015 09:56 PM

No, never.
Fast food place don't bring the food to your table..it's not a full service restaurant..

arock10 04-21-2015 06:55 AM

I tip on at your standard full service resturaunts, both dining in and to go food. For other places if I'm paying cash and their is a jar I'll typically drop my change in because it's not like I'll ever spend it and it's annoying to have in my wallet

michael.kickass 04-21-2015 06:56 AM

Nope, I dont.
