RIP Magnatique, Way to Young, you will be missed!

Our industry lost one of the good old school guys this weekend, Phil you will be missed!

For those that never had the pleasure of meeting or working with him, he was one of the nicest guys around. :(

I'm still in utter shock.. RIP

CDSmith 02-09-2015 10:31 AM

Magnatique, now there's a name I haven't seen around in a while. Wow. Heart attack you say? How old was he? One of my eldest living cousins just passed away suddenly from this same thing, just a month ago in fact. He was in his mid 70's, but these days even that is too young.

I think I'll make my donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in honor of Phil and my cousin John this year. Perhaps some of you other old schoolers might consider honoring Phil likewise.

RuthB 02-09-2015 10:39 AM

So sad to hear this. Phil was way too young, and such a nice guy. Rest in peace.

BlackCrayon 02-09-2015 10:40 AM

I didn't know him but its very sad when someone so young goes so suddenly.

Honez 02-09-2015 10:40 AM

Speechless. I did business with Phil many years back and finally met him one year in person at YP in Mexico (at least I think it was YP.) He always had a smile and a warm hug for me.

RIP Phil!

Biggest heart and smile. Just a great guy.

Roald 02-09-2015 10:58 AM

wow RIP.

Poppy 02-09-2015 11:13 AM

Loved that guy. Complete shock. RIP Big Phil. Get your heart scans people! 20min of your time and for those in the US, cost is around $100, if insurance doesn't cover it.

Man, can't believe this...

Elli 02-09-2015 11:16 AM

Oh wow, that's very sad. :( His poor family.

Deej 02-09-2015 11:16 AM

I'm not putting a face to name. We got a pic to post?

Regardless. Rip!

Va2k 02-09-2015 11:26 AM

DAMN so so sad.. RIP brother.

That's bloody horrible. Phil was just awesome. Such a nice guy, big smile...

RIP. My thoughts are with his team...

Kenny B! 02-09-2015 01:15 PM

RIP Phil, so young that's terrible

Tam 02-09-2015 01:31 PM

This is shocking and very sad news - Phil was one of the first people to ever help me in this industry and took me under his wing a few times over the years - he will be greatly missed and remembered with such fondness!!

Wow!! Just plain wow!! So young and unexpected!

Spunky 02-09-2015 01:38 PM

Damn shame and so young. RIP :(

Imortyl Pussycat 02-09-2015 01:42 PM

very sad news. RIP Phil

baddog 02-09-2015 02:47 PM

Wow; condolences to his friends and family.

Martin 02-09-2015 02:56 PM

Prob one of the first guys I did business with. I believe it was around the time of Net _ Pond TGP/Newbie board. At 32 you're supposed to have so much life left. Life isn't fair sometimes.

One thing I hated about this business was that you're always sitting on your ass. One of the reason I just couldn't do it anymore.

Take care of yourself out there.

Anthony 02-09-2015 03:44 PM

Rest In Peace Mags. Way too young.

epitome 02-09-2015 05:07 PM

Over the years I have had the privilege of both partnering with and working for Phil.

Phil was an awesome, caring and generous person. He will be sorely missed by so many.

I will always remember his huge smile and laugh.

Edit: For those asking for a pic to put a face to a name, this is the only one I could quickly dig up. Probably not the best since it is so heavily cropped, but hopefully it does the job.

32? Damn, so unfair. I have 90 year old aunts and uncles, pisses me off, not like they did anything special to live this long and here's a kid 32 and it's already over for him :(

We're not born equal and we don't die equal.

Condolences to his family and friends.

mineistaken 02-09-2015 06:51 PM

Was this out of nowhere or did he have some condition? 32 is too young for that.

Far-L 02-09-2015 06:52 PM

Phil is one of the few people in the biz who never made an enemy. never had someone call him out as a cheat or anything else, was universally loved, trusted, and appreciated by friends and associates.

Very sad to hear.

R.i.P

Damn 30?? RIP Phil. Was it congenital heart disease or bad diet lifestyle? Way too young to go.
