From my own experience most guys that do this sort of thing will also do lame shit to kids and women. Then there is the fact that he did it in a foreign country. Most people are on their best behavior when in a foreign country.

The guy is an asshole sure, but a $10k bounty for a squirrel just seems excessive. Maybe it's the manner in which he did it, but it's still just a rat with a furry tail. Would the outcry be as loud if were just an ordinary sewer rat?

Please explain your question. There's nothing wrong with me. I have compassion. But I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch over a squirrel's death. You do realize actual HUMAN BEINGS, mostly children are being treated like this all over the world? Why no $10k bounty on the evil people throwing children off cliffs, cutting off their heads, or cutting off body parts just to torture them?

I said it builds up the shitty sentiment, as it does. Also compassion is not limited to just humans. Most people feel compassion towards other living creatures also. We are "built" that way.

Humans are just animals as any other living creature (well, plants are called as plants). Main difference to other species is that other humans belong to the same specie. Maybe you should start to develop compassion to life in general and not just to humans.

I have squirrels in my back yard. They're harmless, not a problem, and it's nice to see them sitting on my fence when I am out back just enjoying the weather, and they're playing.

Well I have in fact used food to lured a rat into a trap that clamped down hard on it's neck and killed it.

I have a lot of walnut trees. The squirrels collect them all and like to store them in annoying areas like under my deck. They are nice to look at running around but if they dont keep their shit away from my house I shoot the bastards.

Using traps or killing is not the point, how and why is the point. And if I point to the original issue, it was also illegal. Like is cruelty towards animals altogether.

And yes, there are multiple dangerous things in the world. But trapping rats won't even help much to avoid the rats. If you create suitable environment to them, they will come and with numbers (like in middle ages when they used street as a compost).

Could you (not just you) stop that "Do you eat meat" and similar kind of bullshit, that doesn't even relate to this topics subject.
