Weird spam from fox news

Hey everyone, I just wanted to see if anyone here knows anything about this.

I get spam everyday, that's fine, that's normal I guess.. but I took a look at one of them for a second and saw something weird.

70% of the spam email I am getting is from "[email protected]"

I am Dumpmanager.. what's going on here. Place and Domain in the above is always different. No matter how many times I blacklist these email addresses, they keep coming because it's always @something.different if you know what I'm saying.

What the hell is this shit? Why is my name (DumpManager) on every single one of these spams, all from different sources?

Anyone know how I can find out who is doing this?

It's not causing me any troubles, it's just so fucking annoying.

lol, me neither.

Thing is it's not only fox news, they use this spam thing with other ones although that is the main one that keeps coming in.

Why don't you just filter it out? Setup a filter to deliver email that matches your full email address to your inbox and delete everything else containing dumpmanager@...

We have the same problem with one of our business accounts.
1-2-3 mails a day ourname@_______________

I am trying to trace where this all came from.

Set up a filter with your email client. Thunderbird example shown.

The body filter is what works.
If you can find a typo in the body -- I found please fulfill and LLLC in the body on spam mailers.
If you read the message source headers you can make custom filters (use first drop arrow [Body][From] 'x-maillist-id' I am guessing that will filter out that whole spam mail list >:O)

Fox News is NOT spamming you.

Someone who doesn't like Fox News is, so that folks blacklist them (as shown above).

When you see @yourdomain as the return address, someone doesn't like YOU and is using your address to spam folks, trying to get your site blocked too...

Thank your competitors and anti-porn people.

I understand what you wrote Stephen, and appreciate the answer. That is not the case with us, and likely the OP. Since my geeky workers got back from a geek meetup I will now ask them to look into this. Nothing more.

Emails read like this:

From: USHomePharm <[email protected]>
To: [email protected]
Reply-To: [email protected]
Subject: Dear mike Today 60% OFF!

Another one:

From: CNN News <[email protected]>
Reply-To: [email protected]
Subject: BREAKING NEWS: Starting Your Own Business in the Digital Age
To: [email protected]

I am more curious to see if my guys can re trace our steps, see what websites we may have visited in the last few weeks, any business communications sent to companies unknown to us, etc.

That is brilliant, I am going to look into this for sure.

Blacklisting does nothing, as it is always a new address sending stuff.
