Another Adult Industry Moratorium Effective Immediately
How many of these are we going to go through before the US Government steps in regulates porn production?

December 6, 2013
Industry Calls Production Moratorium After Positive HIV Test Free Speech Coalition (FSC), the adult industry trade association, called for a production moratorium today after one of the testing facilities in its PASS testing system reported a positive HIV test for an adult performer. “There was a positive test at one of our testing centers. We are taking every precaution while we do research to determine if there’s been any threat to the performer pool,” said FSC CEO Diane Duke. “We take the health of our performers very seriously and felt that it was better to err on the side of caution while we determine whether anyone else may have been exposed.” The next steps will be to perform additional tests, determine a timeline, and identify any first generation partners. “We want to make sure all performers are protected. The performers’ health and safety is the most important thing,” Duke added. FSC called for all production to halt immediately, until further notice. Updates will be posted to the FSC-PASS website and the FSC blog. |
Oh goodness... again?

It's precautionary. A preliminary test showed an HIV+ result. |
The public (and many porn performers) don't understand that no one has contracted HIV on a porn set since 2004.

wut is this shit

If a performer tests positive...but NOBODY they worked with on any shoots is positive...then it is a FACT that they contracted it off set. Jesus man... |
It would be awesome if people would just not fuck outside of the industry. Or, you know, treat ALL of their partners with the same caution they would if the potential partner was in the industry.

Just because a person might do a porn shoot once a month doesn't mean that they don't go out and have a life outside of shooting porn. There aren't any girls that make their actual living shooting porn for other companies. No way these girls can actually live off of the few shoots that this industry does these days. Most of the girls are strippers and/or escorts as well. Yeah, if they are smart and have their own company/website they can make a living...but 99.99% of the girls do not. Plus...like every young person in the world, they enjoy going out on the weekends drinking and getting laid. But we, and the media...like to pretend that they are robots that only exist to shoot a scene every couple of weeks or so. Nope, they are people. Having said all that, I guess we'll wait and see if it's a male or female. My gut feeling is male. :( |
Here's a novel thought, use a fuckin' condom for all off set sex. A simple matter of professional courtesy to the others you work with. But, we all know that won't happen.

so how do we educate everyone about the facts?

best to be careful - let's wait to see more info.. please be supportive of the people working in the adult entertainment production industry..

But its legal to shoot outside. Take a break and send me some Exclusive Scenes to do in Colombia. Good Energy

You know...what we really need is to keep this kind of shit OFF the boards. You guys saying stuff like that is what gives the govt. and religious nut cases ammunition. It's like saying that if a performer breaks their arm at a nightclub...then it must be "porn's fault". It's just dumb. If they haven't caught it on set, then that means that it is NOT porn's fault. You would think that folks who are supposed to be in this business would understand that. Or anybody with common sense. If you didn't get hurt or catch anything from doing porn...then WHY in the hell would it be "porn roulette"? No my friend, it's called LIFE roulette. And you can either LIVE it. Or just take up space too scared to do anything fun. |

Gay for pay, escorting, fuck a fan, 30 day windows for testing, inadequate tests. I don't need to paint scenarios here. But IF adult performers ONLY fucked each other ON CAMERA, and did so after being adminstered tests ON SET, then I would agree with your stance 100%. But we both know this is impossible. Right now there's simply no way to tell exactly 100% who gets what from where or whom and that's really scary (to me). Thus, porn roulette (URL taken?). |

And Fuck A Fan is the LEAST risk sexual behavior there is as everyone is tested and we use condoms. |

Besides going 100% condom, there really isn't another way. All cross overs and IV drug users need to be rooted out right now. IV drug users banned from the industry, cross over performers not permitted to work in the hetro industry. And that is that. But we all know that will never happen, so enjoy all your future HIV cases. |

Oh wait you might lose money if we do the right thing. Carry on |

A performer doesn't have to do cross-over to be exposed to HIV, heterosexuals can transmit the virus just as well as homosexuals can. And even if a performer doesn't do cross-over movies that doesn't ensure he/she doesn't indulge in their private life. And "banning" performers that do cross-over is discriminatory. I bet you some lawyer would have a field day if a performer was told "you can't work with us because you have gay sex". Another thing to consider is this: no amount of testing will PREVENT a performer (be he/she het/gay) from catching an STD off-set. If I'm not mistaken testing is there to prevent spread, to stop a possible outbreak due an infected performer going on-set. And isn't that EXACTLY what testing did, by flagging a performer that might be/is high risk/infected? People need to put emotion aside and think rationally. I'm not saying that making condoms mandatory might not be a way to reduce risk, but to think that they will magically eliminate ALL risk might be wishful thinking. |

It's really nobodies business. If I want to fuck a girl without a condom and film it, it's up to me and the girl involved. We are both adults and don't need all those busybodies telling us what we can and can't do in our lives. And to all of those people like the AHF, politicians, and religious nuts who want to "regulate" every goddamn thing on Earth... I'd like to show you something. Our country was founded on minding your own fucking business and leaving other people the fuck alone! Here is the backside of the first coin ever minted in the United States as an official currency for the entire nation. The performer has been identified luckily he hasn't been shooting in months and all his partners have since retested We will be resuming production tomorrow.....with condoms, as we do in all of our productions. |

There will always be a risk, but why up the risks dramatically by allowing IV drug users and cross over performers into the talent pool? Who cares if it's discriminatory? Just don't hire them. If you know they are risk, why even consider them for the job? You guys are honestly just begging for it. What the industry is basically saying is... - We don't want to take any personal responsibility for our actions - We can't discriminate against cross over performers - We don't want condoms - IV drug users are ok - Buuuuuuuuut, we don't want the government to interfere with our business As I said before, kudos to Dan for doing what he is doing. And kudos to those who actually take personal responsibility for what they are doing, like Robbie. Anyone else who is waiting for others to fix the problem, is part of the problem. Each and every person in the business can start right now by refusing to hire or work with those from higher risk groups. That would be a great place to start. |

Iv'e heard from a number of people that have been shooting content trade with him. So how do you know that "all" his partners have since tested? Have you heard a different name? |

However, this will slow down all the so-called producers from just simply using this industry to get laid and make a little extra money by over looking the logistics and safety. I can count at least 20 producers who are more motivated by sex rather than doing the right thing. |

It's nobodies business what a person wants to do. I shouldn't be able to command you to do something against your will for your "safety". You are a grown man and you don't need my input into your life. Neither do performers. Every one of those performers is fucking somebody tonight. What's the difference if a camera is rolling or not? And why are we all so hot to give the govt. control over every damn thing we do in our lives? It's puzzling to me why people are calling for the govt. to "regulate" people fucking. Do I think it's a good common sense move for the few companies left in Los Angeles to call for a "moratorium" on shooting when a local performer tests positive for HIV? Yeah, that makes sense. Do I think that a bunch of people who aren't even in the porn industry should be telling the people who fuck onscreen that they have to wear a condom against their will? Fuck no. It should be up to the performer. AND the producer. If I want to shoot with no condoms and the talent wants to use a condom...then I simply won't shoot them. Just like if I'm shooting anal and the girl doesn't do anal. I just won't shoot her. Or if I want to shoot a scene of a skinny teen with no tits, and an older BBW with giant tits shows up...I'm not going to shoot her. You guys keep inferring that somehow producers are in charge of "safety" and everything is their fault. NO! The girls and guys doing the scenes are having the safest sex they will ever have on a porn set. Now, when they are out having a good time late night on Friday or Saturday and get fucked by a person they met that night...well, there's a risk. NOBODY is holding a gun to people's heads and telling them to do porn. Most of the girls are strippers and escorts. This is the SEX industry. They are fucking and getting guys off all the time off camera. It's what they do. (God bless them) But the risk of getting killed in an auto accident is about a million times higher. Should they stop driving too? And stop eating fried foods because that WILL kill them with heart disease in a few years. Let's stop thinking that we can control other people. You can't. Nobody can tell you what to do either. You are going to do what you want to do. I'm telling you guys...irregardless of what Tony says, our freedom is far more important than some virus. That virus is going to be cured one day. But if we actually allow the govt. to take over our sex lives (and believe me, this will only be the first step if history shows how the govt. works), then that will be forever. Long after HIV is a distant memory, we will still have the govt. telling us how we can have sex and running our industry. I don't want to see that. |
You missed my point, but that's ok.
This response is just like a torrent or tube owner justifying how they steal our content in one way or another. Why do you stop your car at red light? Because its the law or ignorant? or simply both? |
