I lived a couple of years in the Ohio Valley, about 30 miles from Steubenville, and I still have some family that lives there. When I lived in the Valley I traveled a few times a week to Steubenville to train at Next Level Fighting since they had the closest MMA training facility at that time. That town is a giant shit hole, and the last time I was there a few months ago it's just gotten worse. High crime including an influx of big boy street gangs from neighboring states, very few jobs unless you are a coal mining lifer that has family that can get you into the mines, and an incredibly decaying infrastructure. Yet they still spent millions on that high school football stadium, and when I say that is all they have I really mean that is ALL they have. Most of the schools are in ancient buildings that don't have proper A/C or heating, but the football field is top notch.

If you've never seen the culture of high school football in Ohio and other Midwestern states you wouldn't believe it, so it doesn't surprise me one bit that they attempted to cover this up...

The Steubenville case happened in August 2012. That article references a case that went to trial last February.
