iPhone 5 = disappointment

I´ve expected much much more,i see no reason why to switch from iPhone 4 to 5? :321GFY

Sid70 09-12-2012 11:10 AM

They shoulda go with iPhone Pro 4,5" and iPhone Light 4" to grab it, but they friggin failed. Galaxy S III for me too.

RandyRandy 09-12-2012 11:11 AM

I'm sure Apple fan bonus will line up - that's what they're counting on. (my bb bold 9700 does all I need it to do)

I previously owned a Curve 8310. I currently have a Bold 9000, a Bold 9700, and an iPhone 4S... and the iPhone is head and shoulders more efficient to use than the 9700. BB OS 5 literally crippled the phone.

Anyway, the Bold 9900 is the one to have... if you absolutely must have a Blackberry.

iOS is much more polished user experience, with better app support... but with fewer advanced features.

Rochard 09-12-2012 11:27 AM

Let's face it... iPhone lead the way in the smart phone market and for a long time no one could touch it. Now a smart phone is nothing more than a smart phone, and they are all alike.

"Key upgrades to the iPhone 5 include: A larger, 4-inch Retina display, updated camera technology featuring panorama mode, 18% thinner and 20% lighter design than the 4S, and an all-new processor offering up to double the speed for apps and games."

It's amazing what is taken for granted now.

I think there is a point of diminishing returns.

Is that thinner and lighter design really going to matter to me? Is the "double" speed time really going to be noticeable? They already load pretty fast.

Yes, it's all great and they should be adding it, but they can't expect the panties of fan bois to drop when the updates really are not going to make that much of a difference.

For someone that can remember when there were no cell phones and no internet any current phone is like magic in your hand.

Shoplifter 09-12-2012 12:00 PM

It's too little too late. I was hoping they could come up with something that would make me go back to IPhone but as far as I can see they are not even matching the SGIII.

I have a SGIII with a 64GB microsd card and I have all of my music in flac format. There is no way Apple can even come close to this right now.

All we have left here from Apple is the IPad, and as soon as there is an Android tablet that can beat the IPad I guess that will be the end of my little infatuation with Apple products.

seeandsee 09-12-2012 12:08 PM

iphone 5 will still be a seller

Exactly!!

And Juicy, you are wrong, i won´t get the iPhone 5, i´ll wait for the next iPhone.
Their iPhone sales declining since the launch of iPhone 4s, people has expected much more from the 4s and i don´t believe the iPhone 5 will change the trend.
I think the 6 will have to be a killer phone to keep them up with growing Samsung.

It's still a big step up from my old-assed iPhone 2G from 2008. It's served me pretty well - it was well made - has not a single scratch on the glass screen. It's slow, though, and it won't ring anymore - just vibrates. It's also AT&T, which was the only option back then. I have 5 bars in my living room, but the voice quality sux. Also, cuz of planned obsolescence, I can't really download any apps anymore, and I can't even connect to the iTunes store (which is BULLSHIT, IMO). I'm expecting a big improvement with the iP5.

how are you able to see to post on gfy

purescotty 09-12-2012 12:28 PM

I'll reserve judgement for hands on use, but so far the length and slimness are a turn off for me. It's plenty thin as is.

Galaxy S3, unbelievable phone

Theo 09-12-2012 12:50 PM

Not that impressive indeed. Expect 5S next year with small changes over this model. Apple should had move forward with a stronger candidate for the cell phone market. Of course now its the turn of the marketing dept to convince the 4/4S users to upgrade.

Theo 09-12-2012 12:52 PM

They should have kept it same weight with an even better battery. At the end of the day it's where Iphone is lacking. Even with mophie battery case, if you use 3G constantly you end up draining it.

VenusBlogger 09-12-2012 12:53 PM

iphone sucks

samsung galaxy rocks.

Still cant stand the IPHONE or APPLE FANATICS drinking coffee in starbucks here in my city... Why is STARBUCKS so RELATED TO APPLE?...

really wondering...

KillerK 09-12-2012 12:54 PM

I'd like to see how it takes photos.

The upgrade in the 4 to the 4s was worth it just for the camera. The 5 is supposed to be even faster at taking pictures (if you have kids you will appreciate the speed)

Samsung might make a prettier phone that has more features, but the operating system SUCKS.

Droid users are like Linux people who bitch about Windows.

Cellphone bars don't really mean anything, they're pretty much just for decoration.

Said the Apple fanboy bitching about Android.

Horny Dude 09-12-2012 01:04 PM

I'll admit it I'm going to get it when it comes out. I still have a 3Gs and have been holding off upgrading for sometime so now I'm upgrading. I like a lot of the features, the A6 processor and the longer screen. The game demo looked really cool, graphics were nice. The only turn off is the new connector, you have to "buy" a stupid adapter to work with all your previous 30 pin connections. Maybe I'll go real fan boyish and do an unpacking video and post it on YouTube that day, OOOOHHHHH!

Achmed 09-12-2012 01:07 PM

Satellites phones only way to go. Everything else just toy for child.

The Ghost 09-12-2012 01:18 PM

Getting one for sure. Will report back on it :)

I was actually going to consider the iPhone 5 as my next phone, but I didn't see anything today that's any better than the Galaxy S3 that was my only other option.

Aidoru 09-12-2012 01:58 PM

What else do you REALLY need it to do honestly? It's mostly a $600 handheld Facebook device for most people.

I just went to Hawaii for the first time ever. No maps, no need for an address. Just say the name of a place, Google Maps picks it up, gives me voice navigation to where I need to go. Sweet.

I do, too. I don't hate Apple. I was Mac well before the iPhone, and I generally like their products (NOT a fan boy, though).

But yeah. There always seems to be some douche that sits in Starbucks (not a fan of SB really, either - prices too high & coffee too dark - and generally aloof and unpleasant staff and pretentious naming conventions) that sits there alone all day long with his laptop - with the big white glowing apple logo on the lid.

Just sayin' I've noticed it, too.

I remember too. I was a hold out for a long time. Everyone laughed at me cuz I kept the corded phone. I was given my first, cheap, cordless phone as a gift.

I had to get a new phone after my fell in the ocean, so for $100 more I decided to get the 4S, has double the GB. The phone sucks, I want my 4 back.

It randomly shuts off and it's an Apple issue and they are aware of it. They just tell you "oh hit these three buttons at once and it will restart it." WTF?
