Me too, I finished two houses with nice kitchens and games rooms just from their rewards store :thumbsup

Those were the days :pimp

Bill8 08-25-2012 04:12 PM

I know, cameras, monitors, playstations, looking around this room I can still see things I got from rewards - then they added amazon gift cards, you got a better deal just getting amazon codes.

What was the womans name, the girl who helped you with rewards? She was always decent.

It was unbelievable how well some of those crappy sites sold. Check your ars stats a couple times a day, kaching, kaching.

See Cig 08-25-2012 04:35 PM

that one teen site they did, jesus christ did I make a fotunre with thing.

GAMEFINEST 08-25-2012 04:43 PM

They were good

Bill8 08-25-2012 04:45 PM

oh right, content too, I spent thousands worth of ars rewards points on content.

I got fucking hard drives full of now mostly worthless content, lol. Every once in a while I try to figure out how to monetize that stuff again. It's all paid back many times it's cost, still, I paid so much for it, I feel like I would like to do something to keep making profit on it.

lol, nowadays content is free, right? not a lot of use for generic content as an affiliate.

JFK 08-25-2012 04:51 PM

so his main competitor sold for 400 mill ? nice:thumbsup:thumbsup

Bill8 08-25-2012 05:02 PM

I dont recall seeing much promo for Heroes of Newirth, and never heard of anyone playing it.

Any of ya'll play it?

A free game whose profit model is selling inworld virtual money - lets see, who came up with that idea? oh right, pretty much everybody.

But, probably more profitable than most adult startups these days, right? Marc got out while the getting was good.

We did well with AllPetite, AllAmateurMovies, even Babe n Car !

We used our own content on our own tours and sent directly to the ARS join page.

Put a few galleries on TheHun and counted the sales come in hourly !

I spent 2 weeks building sites for two different accounts. Those two weeks or work have brought in just under $50k. Most of it was the first 3 years or so, but I still get paid a few times each year.

They have these billboard's all around town literally. My GF has even seen them elsewhere on her way to work (she works an hour north). I would hazard a guess I've seen a good 5-10 just around locally within a 30 minute drive myself.

Whatever he is doing now with his video games, and investments, he is making some nice coin obviously.

I always remember the ARS dialer, I know at one point I was making like $5k a day off of it.... Good Times! :pimp

I am not sure what all is left of ARS.

I know a few years back one of my models was working for them doing some part time blog updates and other work before she moved to the WC and got married. One of the dude's who used to work for ARS, I think his name was 'Chris', moved out there to take a job with Nike or something.

Anyway, that was before Becky moved to Florida. However, I believe they still do something with Casper, and content. I am not sure if that is the HD feeds or what. But they still have some roots in adult somewhere. But I think that company is 'Storm Media' versus ARS.

:2 cents:

yes spending lots of money on billboards is always a sure sign that someone is obviously making a lot of money. :upsidedow

I am sure that you can relate in regard to the development cost of the creatives alone for these advertisements, much less the multiple billboards across a dozen or more different location's in a single month.

Bill8 08-26-2012 03:26 PM

Does anybody know anybody that plays the Heroes of Newirth game?

I don't. But then I don't play fantasy games. I do play some virtual world games, just not fantasy.

S2 Games Announces Multi-Regional Tournament Series, DreamHoN
04/19/2012

Quote:

S2 Games, creators of the award-winning MOBA title, Heroes of Newerth (HoN) - announced plans today for a massive multi-regional tournament series, DreamHoN, officially sponsored by Alienware Arena and set to headline at the world's largest LAN event, DreamHack Summer 2012. DreamHoN will feature five-man teams from around the globe facing-off in the massively popular session-based MOBA title, Heroes of Newerth. Teams from North America, Europe, South East Asia (SEA), Oceania, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Korea will all vie for their shot at over $60,000 in prize money and the pride of representing their home territory live at DreamHack Summer 2012 in Jonkoping, Sweden. It all kicks off with separate North American, European, and Oceanic qualifiers starting April 23rd.
:Oh crap

Bill8 08-26-2012 04:12 PM

Oh - newerth - new earth - I get it.

A press release is interesting, but, it doesn't tell me much about how the players feel about the game.

Not my kind of thing. But, I never played world of warcraft either.

exactly my point just because someone spend a lot of money on advertising don't mean they make a lot of money.

No. Ten Ferraris from 2004 are worth about 20 grand apiece. On a good day. If he's lucky and the wind is blowing in the right direction.

Twenty year old Ferraris are worth nothing. The repair bills and the insurance? That's another story...

I'm waiting for Rattlesnake to default on the fucking Bugattis...

Aside: You can still make money with ARS. Getting paid? That's a whole 'nother story.

2004? Ha ha he huh hoo hah hee huh...

20 grand a FERRARI? WTF.. Are you fucking crazy?

I just checked a LOCAL CAR's site, and the cheapest FERRARI here, (USED, year 2001) is 200K at least...

Another FERRARI (USED year 2008) is 500K..

PIRIOD.

I remember him sending everybody a free game, his first one, first release.
Must be lying around somewhere here.

Marc's traffic jam in his backyard filled with all his great cars lined up was a classic thread. Obviously a smart guy since he was only ~26 then;-).

I remember me having a discussion here with a so called BMW lover, i told him some guy on the internet had a Z8, the BMW freak here said it was impossible since they weren't available yet. Marc had one though;-)

Ahh the days of ARS.. made a killing submitting galleries on their bannerless freehost..
Too bad they shut down their reward store last year, I was still ordering stuff from it eventhough I haven't promoted them in 10 years ;)

Yeah I still had points left - was not paying attention and lost em, as I recall.

Lol just like with epass - I knew I should have gotten everything out, but still lost about $500 - nuthing compared to many folks, but I was kicking myself after.

Just distracted with other shit.

It seems to have been a popular store based on the replies.
