pimpware 06-17-2012 05:08 PM

It's my fav one, can't wait season 5 starting next month :thumbsup

StickyGreen 06-17-2012 05:13 PM

Sopranos better.......

Fetish Gimp 06-17-2012 05:22 PM

The first two seasons are about as perfect a TV show can get. Looking forward to seeing how they tie it up.

You should check out FX's "Justified" and "Boardwalk Empire" if you haven't done so yet.

smutnut 06-17-2012 05:22 PM

It's definitely in the top 5 (arguably number 1 for sure), but still I hated the way they ended last season. Kind of blew it for me, but I don't want to blow it for you so I'll wait until you get to that one.

This is the last season by the way. 16 episodes to wrap it all up.

On imdb. THE WIRE and GAME OF THRONES are rated higher than it. 9.5, 9.4 in that order and then BB at 9.3

Tijuana_Tom 06-17-2012 05:35 PM

EPIC show I freaking love it.

I don't want to say anything incase it spoils it for you. Those early seasons blew my mind.

bronco67 06-17-2012 05:46 PM

The last season was EPIC.

AllAboutCams 06-17-2012 06:05 PM

ever episode is epic i love that show

Agreed. And The Wire is better than them both.

Breaking Bad is probably my favorite TV show. I've only seen the 3(?) seasons they have on Netflix, need to catch 4 and 5.

georgeyw 06-17-2012 06:48 PM

When does season 5 start?

Justified is fucking excellent. All three seasons are good.

Horny Dude 06-17-2012 08:32 PM

Can't wait for the last season. Just got done watching Sons of Anarchy and that was really good, better than I expected. Put it on your Netflix list if you're looking for something to watch.

Theo 06-17-2012 08:44 PM

Check out "the shield"

Curious as to what blew it for you. Is it that Walt has become to dark and unlikeable?

The Wire was awesome but if I had to pick just one it would be Breaking Bad.

sojproductions 06-17-2012 10:58 PM

BB is my favourite ever tv show, the ending to season 4 was simply brilliant, i'm a little worried season 5 will dis-appoint as i cant see how they can top it.

BIGTYMER 06-17-2012 11:09 PM

Nip Tuck
Prison Break (season 1 and 2. got lame after that.)

Marathons are ok until you have to watch an actual series at one a week. Watched the first 3 series in one go then series 4 seemed to take forever.

The Wire was awesome but if I had to pick just one it would be Breaking Bad.

It was something I considered illogical in character development and how easy it was to overcome something that seemed impossible up to that point. It kind of destroyed the premise of the entire season to me. In fact I thought it was going to take another season to overcome that thing I'm talking about. It was great as usual up until that point. They might fix it this season so who knows.

I think they are smart to be ending it because of that flaw I saw instead of stretching it out for every last advertising nickel they can get and ruining a legacy like most series end up doing.

Don't want to say anymore and blow it for the person watching.

candyflip 06-18-2012 05:15 AM

Breaking Bad is good, but The Wire is by far the best written show in the history of TV.

In all honesty, THE WIRE is almost flawless. It's still rated 9.5 on imdb and it's not even current any longer, ended a few years ago. Not sure BREAKING BAD will stand the test of time, but we shall see.

I was looking up the Oscars the other day, and couldn't help notice that DANCES WITH WOLVES beat out GOODFELLAS. It's almost gut busting laughable now to think about. Rotten Tomatoes has GOODFELLAS at 98%.

Not saying THE WIRE and BREAKING BAD should be compared like this, but this last season will say a lot about it's legacy. Like I said. I didn't like the last two episodes last season and where they went and what it said about the characters motivations, even tried to question this on the AMC blog dedicated to BB and it's creator, but got shot down by the idolizing fan boys of course, but maybe he took it into account and will patch up some of the logic.

candyflip 06-18-2012 06:19 AM

A friend of mine's father was a writer on The Wire for most of it's run.

She had a bit part in a few episodes, which was pretty cool for her because as a result became an actress.

Think she's on NYC22 this week.

seXXXhub 06-18-2012 06:21 AM

yea, its damn good, i watched season 1 in one day :D

What's her name? I have a couple screenwriting credits but it's for straight to video stuff in the late 90s. If I had credits for a show like that I'd be jerking off all over myself.

Same here! I started watching it on Netflix last week. churning through season two at the moment.

Hell of a show. Really excited to see where this goes.

Voland 13 06-18-2012 06:36 AM

What do you think of that? I think it's coming back again for a third season. I thought the second season was better than the first but it's still a little much of "Look At Us We're New Orleans" for my taste. I guess still good writing though.

Fuck, dude, I just looked. You're not talking about the guy who wrote THE WANDERERS and CLOCKERS novels are you? That guy is a fucking great writer. The movies were good but don't do the novels justice

The Ghost 06-18-2012 08:25 AM

Listened to the Marc Maron podcast with Bryan Cranston. Cool dude. Just caught up on season 2 of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad is the next series i'm going to tear into.

Yes, he wrote both of those as well. He's done quite a bit.

Don't think he did anything on Treme, but I know he's writing on NYC22...which would explain how she got the gig too. I've worked on a few indie films with her. I start on one in two weeks with her boyfriend, so I'm sure she'll be around for some of it.

I'm curious what you are talking about - Walt has been a very dark character since episode one. The very first scene we see of him in the desert he has just killed two guys.

Smutnut is a screenplay writer. He is looking and seeing things that the average viewer isn't going to catch.

It is a bit of a curse and I'm sure he goes nuts watching a lot of the garbage most people eat up and love.

It's not about Walt getting evil. I love that in fact. It was about the thinking of his opposition and also how easily Walt suddenly could accomplish what he couldn't accomplish just before when opposition is even a bigger genius than Walt

That's cool. I just picked up another chump change gig, but if it gets made, credit will be better than the money. I have a couple produced credits with Roger Corman on imdb too. I mean his company produced.
