Anyone Else Hate Facebook?
 

I have to say after Myspace I never really ever log into Facebook. It's so non user friendly, the new timeline for all profiles is ugly as fuck. I can't believe that they're making everyone do this ugly timeline. The previous layout was tolerable.

With Myspace I can search for chicks by age, hair color etc. Also everyone could customize there page. Myspace was the shit. Someone needs to come out with something very simple user friendly site.

According to Google trends FB popularity is peaking and is ready to tank. Now is the time to introduce that new social network you've been planning to launch.

What are some FB alternatives?

A good social networking alternative is to just make actual friends and keep in email, text and phone contact with them. ha

Facebook sucks. I hope there is no alternative Facebook and the fad dies as quickly as MySpace.

How the hell would they know if it is peaking or not? They have too much traffic to ignore, and I don't have timeline, so if you do, it is your own fault.

Facebook is along the lines of "bring your own network, and we'll help you expand it via friends of friends".

Myspace was great for finding random chicks to bang. But I'd have to say Myspace had a ton of flaws, and was really a miserable user experience. A very common occurrence was to get an error of "An error has occurred" when trying to view someone's photos... when it worked fine 10 minutes earlier. It was similar to the problems Friendster had before everyone stopped using it.

Oh and I love Timeline...

I just recently approved some relatives who've been pending for over a year. The thing seems to be trying to force me to type a status or whatever, but I just ignore it so there's always a prompt box visible. It also always shows 1 message, but when I click that, it greys everything out and does nothing.

I'm afraid I dont understand what these things mean, but thankfully I dont care much.

I have no idea who can see what or why or how to change it, lmao. Should I care?

I hate social networking in general. I don't use Facebook or Twitter. The internet isn't half as fun as it used to be since social networking took up everyone's time while online. I just don't see the attraction in reading people's shitty status updates every day, and pics of babies, and basically just people needing attention.

Cue the same haters the last time i gave my opinion on the matter...

If I had some mainstream or money making hobby, I'd be all OVER facebook and twitter getting my stuff Liked and passed around from friend to friend and such. Same with youtube, google plus pintrest and all of the others I could think up.

For a daily pastime it's just too much. If it was for work it'd be different.

I was under the impression the timeline wasn't option. Even if I choose not to use it most of everyone else will which will make my FB experience suck.

yep, i totally agree about the user friendliness being absolutely horrible. It's like pages and actions thrown together without logical structure. Seriously the worst and most frustrating website i have ever come across.

I use it for a mainstream site since 6 months or so. Here's some things i've come across:

- Setting up only a business account? It is possible, but once you want to interact with other accounts, you have to register as a person too. Just a biz account without what they call an 'admin', is very limited and pretty useless. So you're forced to open a personal account too.
- So had to set up a personal account. Using your real last name is MANDATORY. It has a pretty smart script, which knows if you put in a fake one, you can't register. I needed about 4 tries until i came up with a fake last name that was accepted. Why is a last name mandatory? As much info as necessary to sell and they are very aggresive to get it.
- I moved and have a different IP now. Facebook notices this and now when i put up a new message, i have to fill in a captcha. When i don't want the captcha step anymore, i have to verify my account. The only way I can verify my account is by giving them my cell phone number, i cannot verify the account in any other way. Once again a very aggressive way of getting your cell phone number. So fuck verifying.
- The new timeline thing. When i wanted to delete a post, it was possible a few weeks ago. Now, i cannot delete posts i just made anymore. I can only 'hide' them. It is impossible to delete your posts.

In conclusion, facebook is so aggressive in getting every bit of personal info, it is getting more obvious as time goes on. It's blatant and in your face, yet the sheep keep giving them all their info like sleepers. Horrible website.

Why all the hate? It's hard work organizing 50,000 baby pictures per second---- so retarded dipshits can browse them for hours, with no end game.

The users are just sharing more and more about their lives. They are adding new friends. They can play games online. Facebook could increase social activities. They might worry about too many strangers watching their personal pages.

It's part of the age of "too much information". It's all people knowing a bunchy of shit they shouldn't know. Like whose sister just got engaged, or whose aunt just got breast cancer.

try to monitor your friends in real life, just to see if it is ok...
