Anyone Else Hate Facebook?

I have to say after Myspace I never really ever log into Facebook. It's so non user friendly, the new timeline for all profiles is ugly as fuck. I can't believe that they're making everyone do this ugly timeline. The previous layout was tolerable.

With Myspace I can search for chicks by age, hair color etc. Also everyone could customize there page. Myspace was the shit. Someone needs to come out with something very simple user friendly site.

According to Google trends FB popularity is peaking and is ready to tank. Now is the time to introduce that new social network you've been planning to launch.

What are some FB alternatives?

Myspace was great for finding random chicks to bang. But I'd have to say Myspace had a ton of flaws, and was really a miserable user experience. A very common occurrence was to get an error of "An error has occurred" when trying to view someone's photos... when it worked fine 10 minutes earlier. It was similar to the problems Friendster had before everyone stopped using it.

I just recently approved some relatives who've been pending for over a year. The thing seems to be trying to force me to type a status or whatever, but I just ignore it so there's always a prompt box visible. It also always shows 1 message, but when I click that, it greys everything out and does nothing.

I'm afraid I dont understand what these things mean, but thankfully I dont care much.

I have no idea who can see what or why or how to change it, lmao. Should I care?

yep, i totally agree about the user friendliness being absolutely horrible. It's like pages and actions thrown together without logical structure. Seriously the worst and most frustrating website i have ever come across.

I use it for a mainstream site since 6 months or so. Here's some things i've come across:

- Setting up only a business account? It is possible, but once you want to interact with other accounts, you have to register as a person too. Just a biz account without what they call an 'admin', is very limited and pretty useless. So you're forced to open a personal account too.
- So had to set up a personal account. Using your real last name is MANDATORY. It has a pretty smart script, which knows if you put in a fake one, you can't register. I needed about 4 tries until i came up with a fake last name that was accepted. Why is a last name mandatory? As much info as necessary to sell and they are very aggresive to get it.
- I moved and have a different IP now. Facebook notices this and now when i put up a new message, i have to fill in a captcha. When i don't want the captcha step anymore, i have to verify my account. The only way I can verify my account is by giving them my cell phone number, i cannot verify the account in any other way. Once again a very aggressive way of getting your cell phone number. So fuck verifying.
- The new timeline thing. When i wanted to delete a post, it was possible a few weeks ago. Now, i cannot delete posts i just made anymore. I can only 'hide' them. It is impossible to delete your posts.

In conclusion, facebook is so aggressive in getting every bit of personal info, it is getting more obvious as time goes on. It's blatant and in your face, yet the sheep keep giving them all their info like sleepers. Horrible website.
