I forget how many ounces that was but I believe it was a 32oz lobster tail and a big piece of MEAT!

Lobsters that size usually aren't very tender :(

Only because people overcook them. The size really doesn't make all that much difference in cooking time...believe it or not. It's about 8 minutes, or until you can pull one of the antaenna off easily.

People get a big lobster and just assume you have to boil it for like a half hour. Cook it for eight to ten minutes and it'll be sweet as...well...fill in the blank.

I love eating lobster, but I feel sorry for those critters. What a shitty way to die. Everytime I see them in the supermarket all crammed in those live water display bins, with their paws banded and knowing they probably haven't been fed for eons and they can be dumped in the steamer at anytime, it just really makes you feel guilty. I always feel like buying the whole lot of them and putting them back in the darn ocean.

Yep that sucka is HUGE! I used to be a chef at the Ritz-Carlton before getting into this biz and prepared many lobsters.....but damn if I ever walked into that bad boy in my kitchen I'd probably go running like a little girl, LOL

Dunno about lobsters but Finnish river crabs are fucking delicious too. Look just like lobsters, but only about 7 inches long, and damn pricey. :)

Yuck I hate seafood. Frozen fishsticks are OKAY sometimes, But that's about fucking it! Well Burger Kings BK BigFish Sandwich wasn't too bad when I tried it a couple years ago. But that crab lobster fucking clams oysters and eel shit people eat. Gross. My uncle who's a doctor told me he likes squid. I about puked.

I feel the same way about seafood. And with lobster, it looks disgusting and with the price you pay for it, I'd rather just have myself a nice big juicy steak :thumbsup

I agree with Interlude, Lobsters that size are usually very tough.

We went to Pappas Brothers Steak House this weekend, anyone ever been there??? It is awesome!!

in nova scotia there is a buddist colony near a fishing village and every year the buddists buy a boatload of lobsters (at the end of the lobster season) and release the entire catch back to the sea. they do it at the end of the season so the lobsters have a little time to live without getting caught again.
