Needs to leak out that Mcaffee supports porn, and if you use their products, you are supporting porn.
|
I just read somewhere, that the government will be monitoring and documenting all surfers who visit .XXX sites. Not sure if it's true, but I wouldn't put anything past them...
|
itll be good when you get a false positive on your site. hardly like mcafee have a good track record http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/21/m...n-xp-machines/

I used McAfee for a year as it came installed on a Dell laptop I'd bought. I thought it was crap, and went back to Norton when the subscription expired.

Isnt there an Indiana school professor that became a member of IFFOR? An active college teacher pushing for legitimacy of pornography for a private company? Wow, what great publicity for this university, to have one of their teaching staff in the pornographic business. We'll see how long that lasts. |
For .xxx site owners this represents a big risk since McAfee has been know to incorrectly label clean sites as dangerous.
For people visiting .xxx this offers no guarantee whatsoever that the site isn't trying to exploit browser vulnerabilities and install trojans because malicious site owners and criminals hacking into legit .xxx sites can easily detect McAfee's security scans and serve clean copies of the website to the McAfee bots and infected copies to normal surfers. |
No to dotxxx!

kind of strange considering mcafee already externally scans every website for free. .xxx is not a host so they can't install it on your server. The only way this would work "internally" is if it would be mandatory to install mcafee on your server to use .xxx otherwise it is basically useless. and that brings only more stupidity. Who wants mcafee viewing and externally reporting everything that happens on your server.?
|
500,000 domains in the first year... hmm...
|
its basically just a big bribe so mcaffe doesn't automatically label everything in the .xxx space potentially dangerous because i'm sure they would otherwise.
|
and what if they get something wrong and isolate you without reason?

This is a good thing: The ICM registry just made owning and running .xxx domains less stable and more risky. |
