IP Watermark Photos
I'm looking for some software or a server side code that will place an IP on a member who downloads images from my member section gallery so when that member reuploads that photo to another site, it puts his IP on it so it can be tracked and I can ban him in the CCBill admin. Can anyone help me with this or know of any such code or software? Thank you

Thats a great idea! Meta tag info. :-) Dont put it ON the photos, put it IN the photos meta information, or code it in a pixel scatter pattern thats not noticable to the human eye but a decoder app will show you the info.

I would like to know how he watermarked his image to put the IP and what looks like the username or a code of the member who download it. The Image the user downloaded can't see this info. Only way to see it, is if you up the Ajustments/equliaze in Photoshop then it will display it. below are samples of what I'm talking about
With the Ajustments/equliaze in Photoshop https://7chan.org/co/src/130101805255.jpg The normal Picture you see when you save the image. https://7chan.org/co/src/129666462252.png Is this a server side watermark? Where the server adds this info to each picture that is download by the user? and if so how do I go about doing that. Thank you again. |
That freaked me the fuck out when I saw my own IP on it. I was like when did I get a fucking dog?

I thought Robbie was doing this at some point. You may want to check with him.

I am pretty sure this would piss a member off.

this idea have been written on gfy years ago, i dont understand why its not working already ... but, its good for smaller sites, for big sites it will be problem to watermark every image on time if there will be hundreds of people online ... :2 cents: and sure, do not put the info into the image, but into the image code, thiefs are not that dumb, they will blur the info or something and you are lost again, if you include it into the code well and they remove it the image will be broken and useless ... have luck :thumbsup

I think the proprietary watermark stuff overlays visually imperceptable blobs which form a unique computer readable code that can be extracted. As well as being non obvious to someone viewing the image the codes can also survive basic edits, like resizing the image, or cropping the visual watermark off the bottom. |
The ability to do this has been about for years. The problem lies in the workarounds, they are also easy to do. It may slow some people down, it won't stop them.
The data added can be removed. It can be edited to show whatever you want. It's not foolproof. |
